Is Dan Henderson greater than Randy Couture?

Do you think that Hendo overshadows Randy by his victories and overall MMA record?

1. Badr Hari
2. Remy Bonjasky

Yes, if he didn't have that loss to Anderson everyone would probably recognize him as the GOAT.

Probably the best overall resume of any fighter.

Jake Shields blemished his record. I still find it hard to believe that Hendo lost to the welterweight, even though it's mostly due to the back injuries.

Everyone loses, it's not too big of a deal in my eyes, Junior has a loss to some guy I don't know without checking Wikipedia, Aldo got subbed, Anderson has two bad losses and was stopped in them, Hughes got stopped by Hallman twice in a combined 30+ seconds.

Truth is Shields is very underrated even more now that he's on a two fight skid. Hendo still has beat the greatest Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight in the history of the sport and I'm pretty sure he's the only guy who can say that and along the way he's racked up wins over guys like Wand, Franklin, Nog, Belfort, Feijao, Babalu, and Bisping.

losing to anderson was nothing... his stock really dropped when he lost to jake sheilds, i think he just really underestimated him and didnt come to the fight in shape. however lately he has been making up for all of that with some great performances i would love to see him get the belt

The overall record and body of work ya gotta go with Dan. I don't even count that Shields fight on his record. Not sure if Dan ever came out and said his back injury was the reason for the loss but that wasn't Henderson in there.

Kudos to him for not making excuses and just continue workin. Now they can put him against Jones

At this point they have achieved similar levels of success. Henderson has a lot of split-decision wins on his record, some of whom are to fighters that are not that great: Yuki Kondo, Rich Franklin, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Carlos Newton. he has only lsot to top level competition though (with the exception of maybe Kazuo Misaki).

The great fighters Hendo has beaten in their prime are: Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Wanderlei Silva and Shogun. He has other good wins but they are against fighters who are past their sell by date, such as Fedor.

Randy doesn't have some of the questionable split decisions wins that Hendo does, but he does have losses against lower level competition such as Valentijn Overeem and Mikhail Ilyukhin.

Randy has beaten guys in their prime such as: Chuck, Tito, Vitor and Sylvia, which at the least match up to Hendo's biggest wins.

There is one thing that seperates Randy and Hendo though, and that is a UFC title. Randy won titles several times at both 205 and Heavyweight, whereas Hendo has Pride and Strikeforce titles, but lets be honest, the UFC title means the most.

The fact that Randy held the UFC titles several times edges him ahead of Hendo in the legend stakes. However if Hendo manages to beat either Jon Jones or Anderson (which is a tall order) then I feel he would be unquestionably the most accompished MMA fighter ever.

Easily. Hendo's career is twice that of Randy's.

That said, what Randy did at his age vs. giants is respected. But into his 40s Hendo is taking on more skilled guys than Randy has ever beat.

Hendo is top 3 at least in the history of MMA. His record speaks for itself.

So the UFC belt means more when they gave him title shots coming off losses? Coming off 1 win streaks? Basically just handing them to him? The HW title meant more when it was in a time when the HW division absolutely sucked?

I don't get it.

Easy.

Dan Henderson is worthy of being named GOAT. In my mind there is another GOAT however, one that who's epic wars in the ring and cage have finally caught up with him but I certainly understand people that have Henderson ranked as GOAT.

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day...
