I think that's a valid point, but there's a flip side to that. He can use that as pure motivation to win. Just look at Buster Douglas...homie fought the fight of his life. Unbelievable...of course I don't believe The Reem is an underdog at all...simpy comparing similar circumstance.
Overeem has everything to lose in this fight. The pressure will be on him. Nonetheless the wheels are in motion...it's time to settle it in the Octagon with an exclamation mark!
PS: I wonder if Overeem can choke out Brock.

Agreed, I simply meant in regards to the fight not in regards to his personal life. Some things in life are more important.

Actually it really doesn't sound like me like Cormier is making any kind of prediction there what so ever. "Its gonna be who ever can implement there game plan" Hardly major insight when we have a great wrester vs a great striker. He said "If" Brock is forced to stand with Alistair its not gonna be good. Again nothing new or informative and zero real insight everybody already didn't know. I think Lesnar will smash Overeem and yet I to would agree with everything Cormier said there.

I wouldn't put money on it, but if Overeem fights like he did against Werdum, I wouldn't be shocked to see Brock rock him on the feet.

I can understand Overeem doing this. It's his mother, it's cancer and it's family matters. You can't really argue that.
However, I agree that he's had too much distractions leading to this fight for me to feel comfortable as a fan. I sure hopes he knocks Brock out, but I wouldn't be surprised if Brock's the one with his hands raised at the end of that fight. Unfortunately for me, because I dislike Brock as much as I like Overeem.

dam I hope this puts him off his fight and that he gets beat some how by Lesnar, don't care how this guy loses as long as he loses.

I feel for Overeem.
His upcoming fight with Lesnar is arguably the most important Heavyweight fight he have so far. It is way more important than any of his Strikeforce or Dream Heavyweight fight. You would want to focus all your energy and concentration training for this fight.
Yet, so many things happen. Falling out with his longtime training Camp/Management company (the Golden Glory Saga) and now his mother illness.
In any event, I am still rooting for Lesnar in this fight. But the filial piety of Overeem has earn my respect 1 way or another.
