Palmeiras is one of the top 3 Brazilian soccer teams. It has almost 17 million supporters and is one of the most successful clubs in Brazil...

...until this season. They were awful. They ended up in the eleven position and internationally they weren't great as they should be.

That's why Sonnen is dissing them: they were mediocre this season and he congrates, ironically, for his "great" season.

Aha, that makes a lot of sense then, I knew some of the Brazilian fighters had got sponsor deals with some soccer teams but I didn't know that was Silva's teams' rival.
