UFC on FX: Alves vs. Kampmann” Official for Australia
Quote:
On Wednesday evening, the world’s most prestigious MMA organization announced they will be taking their talents to Australia when “UFC on FX: Alves vs. Kampmann” goes down inside the Allphones Arena in Sydney on March 3rd.
In addition to featuring the opening round of their four-man flyweight tournament, a critical welterweight shootout between Thiago Alves (Pictured) and Martin Kampmann will headline the FX broadcast.
The event takes place Saturday afternoon in Australia. Due to the time zone differences, it has been reported the main card will air live in North America on Friday evening.
UFC 127 this past February was the last Octagon show to go down in The Land Down Under. The Acer Arena hosted that event.
Here is the card’s current roster:
Joseph Benavidez vs. Yasuhiro Urushitani
Ian McCall vs. Demetrious Johnson
Thiago Alves vs. Martin Kampmann

Free card but I won't be going to it, not worth wasting money on going to this, the only good thing the UFC can do but won't do is make the tournament final be on the same night like the ole pride and ufc days.

how far is the trek?
if you are a fan you go try to go regardless of the card when it comes close to town.
keep in mind fight nights are a lot cheaper than numbered cards and often a heck of a lot more entertaining.
floor seats at ufc 115/131 $700/750, nosebleeds $100
fight night in seattle (3-4 hour drive) $250, nosebleeds $50

No I heard they are the same prices as ppv cards for us! and its in a different state to me, if it was a good card like 110 and 127 i would probably go but i'd rather wait to fly to canada/usa for diaz/gsp or sonnen/silva if its in the us.

Wish the first FOX card was headlined by this fight instead of Cain/JDS, this has fireworks written all over it

save your airmiles for the Brazil stadium show in may/june for Silva vs Sonnen and Belfort vs W.Silva. the only problem for ufc 134 is tickets never even went on sale to north americans.
As for Gsp vs Diaz, hits a nerve as im going to Ufc 143, i will actually be rooting for diaz just so Gsp can be welcomed back in december most likely in toronto

I can understand not wanting to travel and pay too much for this - but I still think for the rest of us it's an awesome card!
Can't wait for the little dudes to go to war, and the main event will be entertaining - no doubt about it

GSP/Diaz isn't happening for a long, long time if ever, considering Georges probably isn't gonna fight at all in 2012 and the chances Diaz beats Condit in February, Ellenberger in the summer, and Fitch in the winter are pretty slim.
Also, Alves/Kampmann, Uncle Creepy/Mighty Mouse, and Benavidez/Urushitani makes UFC 127 look like amateur hour.

Is this the first official start of the UFC on Fox then, March 3rd? Or is there another one between now and then?
