To steal a phrase from someone else, the best thing about that fight is that one of them would lose.

Nah... I'm softening on Hughes a lot. He is a great fighter with an amazing record, and it's not the worst thing in the world if he comes over like a bit of an idiot on reality TV shows.

Kos, on the other hand, is the fighter I dislike most in MMA .

I think Hughes was playing it safe to some extent in order to get the W - you can't blame him.

I can't wait to see Diego and Kos go at it though - some serious trash talking going on there.

GSP is in a different league! Hugh's lacklustre performance last night shows the difference in skill level between these 2 fighters. George woulda had Lytle done in the first.

I think GSP is pound for pound, the best all-around fighter in the UFC. All he has to do is avoid the take-down, and Hughes is done.

I don't think Matt "The Mat" Hughes has a chance against GSP anymore. Nor do I think the UFC should match them up again.
And how ego-striken were Hughes comments last night, "maybe the UFC wants GSP to have a few more fights before he fights me". I think Matt should have atleast 2 decisive wins in order to get a rematch for the belt, and last night was not one of them.

I totally agree. He has to be impressive before he given a title shot otherwise it will be the same fight again. Surely he wants to improve before he steps back in with GSP?

Swick was in line for a title shot then had a mediocre decision win over the Crow so wasn't in line for a title shot straight away....same rules should apply to Hughes.

I don't think Hughes is quite ready for GSP again. He needs another fight, a little more challenging to build up his confidence and get him back in the swing of things. He was way too timid last night and he will lose if he fights GSP like that.
