Diaz/Condit BJJ edge?

Who would you say has the better Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?

Condit has more submission wins, but Nick has fought much better competition imo.

(these are my reasons I support Nick & it's not because he's my favourite fighter, trust me!)

Diaz was only 22-23 years old when he lost to Sanchez, Riggs(though it was more stand-up) and Sherk. The things he was doing at the very young age(s) of 22-23 was quite amazing.

Nick is now 28 years old, and he's much better on the ground today than he was back then, you just never see it because he's busy boxing his opponent up..

Before you say "Nate couldn't submit DHK, and Condit sweeped him easy" - Well Nick is a lot better than Nate is at grappling, much, much better. (I can post a video if you would like) - though it's mostly just 50%, you can just tell that Nick makes Nate look like an amateur grappler.

So before you say that, that's like me saying "So? Condit has been subbed 3 times and Nick hasn't!".

In my opinion, I give Nick Diaz the edge in BJJ.

Cesar Gracie BJJ >> Greg Jackson's Gaidojutsu

Why do you think Jake Shields is also known as one of the best submission specialists in MMA - for some who didn't know, he's a Cesar Gracie Black Belt, just like Nick is.

I can't wait for this fight, I want Nick to win of course, but I like Condit a lot as well. Both very entertaining fighters, and both are guys I would choose over GSP for sure.

Condit keeps impressing me in each fight, but he hasn't beaten a single fighter the level of skill as BJ Penn, the striking of Paul Daley or Takanori Gomi (while you're stoned out of your mind)..

Please Nick Diaz, win that belt and tear GSP apart in the cage..

(please give me a good reasons, I love reading facts and learning something new about MMA, or any form of martial arts, it doesn't take that long to type out a possible paragraph or at least 2 sentences..).

I would give the edge to Diaz but Condit's pretty good off his back, I think he's good enough not to get caught, Condit has shown some good sweeping ability and was able to get out from under a guy like Stun-Gun, something Nate Diaz wasn't able to do.

I gotta go with Diaz here... I love Condit. But you don't want to play around on the ground with the Diaz brothers. Ceaser Gracie doesn't give out many black belt's...Nick has earned is, but Nate is still a Purple belt and he is considered one of the best BJJ's at 155....

Diaz all day.

Gracie blackbelts aren't just some blackbelts. Nate Diaz doesn't even have his yet and his sub game has been amazing.

Nick has better BJJ for sure. Although both know what they are doing on the ground.

Not sure how relevant something Nate couldn't do is... yeah its not.

Condit can survive from bottom but not for a long period of time, Nick sets up black belts and taps them, I don't see Condit wanting to take that risk.

Nicks better standing and his clinch has gotten dangerous just ask bj, if Condit has a place of advantage I don't see it maybe he can work elbows and pray for a stoppage idk.

I've watched Condit fight from the start and he's a game fighter that I enjoy but I don't think he can take the shots Nick throws for five rounds in my mind he'll need to stop Nick to win because he wont out work him in a five rounder.

I expect Condit to come out and either win the fight in the first round or lose I don't think you should wait for a opening when fighting Nick. One thing is for sure if he can't make Nick respect his hands and kicks it'll be a long fight for him, I favor Diaz standing and on the ground but not by a ton and I think it will be interesting to see if Nick can take a fighter we know is tough and has good cardio into deep water and drowned him like he's done to so many good fighters.

Both these guys like to win via attrition they brake fighters down and sap cardio by damage, to me they are a mirror image of each other but Nick is better at it.

Exciting fight.

I think Nick would easily beat Condit in a pure BJJ contest. Nick is a black belt that subs other black belts.

However, this is not BJJ.

That poster is freaking awesome!

As for the BJJ I would assume Diaz is a little bit ahead but I really don't know enough about the intricacies of BJJ to know for sure, but i have always thought Diaz had some really sick moved on the ground.

In a straight BJJ match, Diaz all day long, and this is from a Diaz hater and Condit fan boy. But what makes this interesting is that I believe Condit looks for more subs, even while standing, while Diaz tends to only think about throwing hands while standing.

Still it is when you have two guys who know how to use and setup subs like these guys that it tends to make this subject a toss up.
