I don't where I would rank Zuffa on the "shady scale"; 1 being lowest, 10 being highest, but it amazes me that all the Zuffa/UFC nut huggers think it's an absolute impossibility that a UFC fight has never been fixed. I'm not saying one has, but I certainly am open to the possibility.

There was once a time when boxing purists said the exact same thing about boxing, and look at that sport. I bet there are still deniers out there that say boxing doesn't fix fights!

To say that it's an absolute impossibility is silly in my mind. Anything is possible, especially when there is so much money on the line.

Personally I believe this is more likely to be a result of Dan watching rumbles fight with hardy and deciding that rumble was not going to be making much effort after the takedown.

Every sport has front offices that brief the referees "what to look for" before an event. One of the most well known was when Mark Cuban wrote a letter to the NBA front office during the 2005 Rockets-Mavericks series to "watch out about Yao Ming's moving screens" and immediately the next game he picked up quick fouls on pick and rolls.

In addition, the referees themselves have their own personal bias.

A bout doesn't need to be "officially" fixed for it to be biased towards one side or the other.

Just watched the fight for the first time. In all honesty the first stand up is completely warranted. Rumble was really doing nothing and Vitor got into a very tight defensive position where Rumble wasn't going to do much. The cage seperation was also valid. Vitor stuffed him 3 or 4 times and stalled him out. Dan told him to work a few times, Rumble remained stagnant and they were seperated. Second stand up was horseshit. I don't think the fight was fixed at all, I just think it was a very, very quickly tempo'd fight. Both fighters were super aggressive, swinging hard, the arena was loud as all hell and Dan was probably being influenced by that.

Except in no previous fights have there been standups/separations that quickly. Whether you think it was warranted or not it still obvious those were the quickest standups possibly in MMA history. Especially that many in a row.

Bleacher Report is a joke, when they're only good or Britney Palmer awesomeness, everything else is a waste of bandwidth.

While I agree, and highly doubt UFC would be idiotic enough to take the risk of fixing fights, doing something like that would fit with the hubris of Dana White, who seems to think he's untouchable.

I agree.

I thought Rumble himself looked to have quit, the same way Okami looked when he wanted to give up the sub. The 'I'm trying not to look like I'm quiting' look, but no real fight in them.

Fact is, Dana can't afford for the UFC superstars to flop on his first cards. Fights are fixed all the time and if anybody has the power to do it, the UFC does. Much stranger things have happened.

Well said. You will probably get neg repped for even suggesting it by some of those UFC nuthuggers you talk of.
