I'm kind of surprised by this move. Guillard was having success with Greg Jackson and decides to leave all of a sudden? I really hope he's not taking sides with the Rashad Evans feud and shooting himself in the foot.

He needs to be doing whats best for him and his career.

Certain gyms work for certain people. Guillard had been looking very good with Jackson's team but maybe he needed a change. I think the loss to Lauzon was a bit of a fluke I believe on most nights he beats Lauzon. The blackzilian's may be good for Guillard because a lot of the fighters there have are similar to him which can be a good and a bad thing. Hopefully Rumble's performance isn't an indication of what the blackzilians gym is all about.

I'm a fan of Guillard I like his fighting style and I wouldn't be surprised if he puts on the best performance of his life coming off his loss to Lauzon. If he can be the first guy to stop Miller that would be a huge feather in his cap. But the thing that troubles me about this match up is if Miller is able to get Guillard down and control him on the mat the fight is virtually over as I'm sure it won't be hard for Miller to submit Guillard. It will be interesting to see.

So Guillard wins a bunch of fights under Jackson's becomes a contender(although the weak division might have something to do with that) and then he decides to spend time at Imperial and he loses, so he decides to abandon Jackson's and go to Imperial full time?

That makes sense than again this is Melvin Guillard we're talking about, Miller is mentally stronger, his chin is better, his ground game is better, Guillard has no shot here.

We don't know how was the spirit behind the scenes so all that easy criticism on Guillard comes of as premature and unfair iyam.
I would guess that if he changed camps, it's because he wasn't feeling too well on Jackson's.
Why? Only they can tell!

I hope he isn't falling back into his old drug habits and Jackson wasn't having any of it. Melvin needed Jackson in my opinion.

Knew this would happen eventually. Jackson is a bit overrated, man. As far as I know it's Mike Winklejohn that's doing most of the work there anyhow. Soon you'll see the likes of Marquardt leave and then they'll have shit. Jackson has made it clear that it's mostly about business for him. Guillard wants a camp that will provide properly for him and have people he is comfortable with, and Rashad's/Van Arsdale camp is that. Not a bad career move at all. Don't let Rumble's bullshit make you lot think that the Blackzillians are undisciplined. With the exception of Johnson, they have some good fighters.

Marquardt is with Grudge as is Carwin, Jackson's still has Jones, Condit, Diego, Guida, Brandao, Dodson, Stann, Brunson who is a serious prospect at 185 and technically, they still have GSP.
