Randy Couture training

i was wondering after his amazing performance last night was because of his training at HW. Randy weighed in at 222lb i believe. So he would not have to drop weight to get ready for the fight. Do u think that means that he could train harder and be stronger. Or do u think he would overall be a better at 205 lb which is 25 lbs ish below is natural weight.

Cutting is probably harder on Randy at this point in his career than it is for most LHW's. IMHO You're right in thinking it is probably more advantageous for him to fight at the weight he trains at, rather than having to cut ten or fifteen pounds then hydrate like crazy for 24-30 hours.

One thing that should be noted was that Randy was considerably stronger than the ogre. Whether or not this was because of ogre's phantom rotator cuff/back injury, only he knows. Up against the fence Randy was able to manipulate Tim and push through his sprawls in the middle of the oct.

I agree. I myself am 38 and I fight at the weight I walk around at for that reason alone. I am much stronger at 205 and cutting weight at my age sucks. I wrestled for many years and cut weight here and there it was always easier to just go at my natural (no pun intended) weight.
Cutting weight drains you unless it's done correctly. IMO a good guy to check out is Sherk, he has an excellent weight drop program.
