Bisping is a top 5 middleweight!
love him or hate him, for all the bisping haters without letting your hate for him cloud your judgment, do you agree bisping is top 5? if not then name the fighters that are ranked ahead of him in the MW division.
its amazing how many clowns on this forum think he isnt even top 10, some haters go as far as saying he is just top 20. tonight's performance against the no.2 MW in the world puts him top 5 for sure in my opinion. thoughts? |
No, he had a good performance against Chael but he's still yet to beat a top ten opponent that said I do think he's top ten though but I'd put Anderson, Chael, Okami, Munoz, and Vitor in my top five even though Vitor's not really fighting elite fighters either I think everyone can agree that Vitor beats guys like Maia, Bisping, Belcher, and Weidman.

personally, i saw Bisping as a top 5 MW before this fight. this was my top 5 going into tonight:
Silva Sonnen Bisping Belfort Okami ... and to be honest, i don't think this fight moves bisping down. in fact, i think he solidifies his spot as #3. i would like to see him fight Okami or Belfort |

I personally would rank him in the top 5 based on who I feel he could beat regardless if some1 on an inet board believes he has/not beaton a top 10 fighter or not.....
MY TOP 5 MWs: Silva Sonnen Belfort Bisping Okami I would like to see him fight Belfort but I can see where he could knock Bisping out but can also see where it could be a great fight..... |
I don't see how you could rank him higher than Vitor, and as good as he looked tonight, the fact remains... he lost yet again to a top 5 MW. I fully believe that Mike can hang with a guy like Okami or Munoz, something I didn't before, but it'd be nice to see him actually secure one of those wins before officially moving him up the ladder.
As of right now, I've got Anderson, Chael, and Vitor ahead of him. And we can't ignore that he lost to Wanderlei. That's four fighters right there who I place before him. I think he's certainly on the cusp, but put him in there with Okami or Munoz and then we'll talk. I actually believe he has a real chance of winning those fights, but again... he has to actually defeat a top ranked fighter before I can officially place him amongst the top ranked fighters, lol. |
Okami seems like a logical fight, he's fighting Boestch next month and should handle him fairly easily, he might get Munoz but he's gonna have to wait until June for that. Bisping/Okami sounds alright to me though.

I will say that a part of me feels like Okami is a step down for Bisping. Fact is, he held his own against the number 2 middleweight in the UFC, and in my mind, he should have the opportunity to face the obvious number 3 in Vitor. If we're going to test Michael Bisping, then let's actually test him.
