while we are at it.

Both UFC on Fox 2 and WWE Royal Rumble sucked balls, the UFC having a sucky night i can forgive since its actual competition but to script an event the way they did with the Rumble is unforgivable.

War Sonnen.

If he was twenty years younger, I reckon William Regal could do well as an MMA fighter.

This guy wouldnt make it to the UFC....

Kimo vs Bam Bam.

At the end of the day and with the current unified MMA rules (Fitchery aloud), most people with a wrestling background could do well in MMA. Im sure if Kurt Angle had come over from olympic wrestling to MMA instead of WWF he would of had quite a good career. Fact is though pro wrestling probably pays more, or at least did at the time he started in comparison to MMA.

As a fan of both UFC and WWE, this thread is very cringe worthy to say the least. No way to know what WWE wrestlers (if any others) would be good in MMA. And considering John Cena vs Junior Dos Santos isn't happening anytime soon, we won't find out.

That being said, it would have been cool to see Kurt Angle in the UFC years ago.

Theres really no way to know that. Sure if were talking about a WWE guy with no MMA training, then yeah I don't see them doing well. But how do you know some of those guys haven't done some training? Maybe even if it was before or after their WWE days. Theres nothing that automatically makes a WWE guy not capable of learning MMA just like theres nothing stopping math teachers and accountants from learning MMA.

We've already had people mention Kurt Angle, Charlie Haas, and Shelton Benjamin who were all great wrestlers and very athletic. If they were younger and had MMA training I could see them possibly doing well. Didn't Cain Velasquez start training MMA after college and only a couple years before getting into the UFC?

The WWE currently has Jack Swagger (real name Jake Hagger) and he wrestled Division 1 at the same time Cain did and placed almost as high as Cain (I think 2 places back 2 different years). And the guy is legit 6'5" - 6'6" and over 260lbs. He seems pretty quick and atletic and I think hes late 20's so still young enough to possibly learn some striking and sub defense and maybe do well in MMA.

Dolph Ziggler (Nick Nemeth) is also supposed to be a really good wrestler and is very athletic. Used to have a record for most wins at Kent State (a D1 school) and wiki claims he was teammates with Gray Maynard in high school.

Oleg Prudius used to wrestle in the WWE as Vladimir Koslov and if his wiki info is right he might of done well in MMA (if he was younger). From Wiki "Prudius has won numerous achievements, becoming the 2005 USA Open Heavyweight Sambo Champion and a United States Kick-Boxing Association (USKBA) International Heavyweight Grappling Champion.[2] He has also played American football for the Ukrainian National Team as well as Santa Barbara City College.[3]." and hes a big guy to, probably over 260lbs and about 6'3". Thats a pretty good non-mma background for a heavyweight MMA fighter.
