Agreed, they have all said this in the past. Eventually they will get over being butt-hurt and will buy the ppvs anyway. All of a sudden b/c Condit had to run to get from being caught up against the fence he is a chicken?; Please, such a lack of MMA/boxing/striking understanding. I dont care if people think I am questioning their intelligence b/c I am concerning mma. I do expect some meat-head response like "all he did was run and throw baby-kicks", freaking tools.....

This is absurd bullshit nothing more. Condit looked for the finish FAR more than Diaz and Condit gets shit on. Flying knees, superman punches, spinning back fists and head kicks by the dozen. To quote Gladiator,"Are you not entertained?" honestly how is it that the guy throwing every crazy strike and the kitchen sink at his opponent is the guy getting shit on and the guy that wanted to put him against the cage and eliminate all these weapons from his arsenal in the process is the hero? WAR CONDIT!!!!!

I agreed with everything you said except that last night I thought the fight was boring.
Condit had implemented a great game plan and was clearly frustrating Nick. I can appreciate what he did, but was it exciting? Not really. Was it surprising? Yes, I found myself puzzled as to why Nick couldn't cut him off. I was also surprised that Carlos' game plan of circling back to the bud light logo after every exchange was working. Was it suspensful? Ya I'd even say it was suspensful bc I was waiting for Nick to either finally chase him down or Carlos to counter with a shot to put him out.
Unfortunately at no point during the fight was my heart pounding or adrenaline pumping.
EDIT: I just realized I didn't answer the OP. Yes, I'd like to see him fight again while GSP heals. Rumours are GSP is healing faster than expected, but if it is not until November that he can fight, I say we see Condit defend his interim title. Nine months is way too long to wait for the next WW title fight.

YES! ABSOLUTELY, GODDAMN.
I'm through being reasonable with these Diaz fans. Condit kicked Nick's ass thoroughly. WAR CONDIT!!!!

Putting the division on hold for 9 months does seem like a long time. Isn't that one of the reason why we have an interim champion so the division isn't put on hold while the actual champion recovers? I think Condit should defend his title just once before November. That way guys like Ellenberger don't have to wait a year for a title shot.

Absolutely not. Why not? I think your forum name answers that.
Is how he fought THAT different than how Machida fights? Or how Dominick Cruz fights? There are martial arts instructors all over the world right now getting ready to show the video of that fight to their students, saying every minute, 'The techniques work. Stay calm. Don't let him bait you'.
Was that the fight I expected from Condit? Hell no. Was that a 'Greg Jackson' win? Totally. Guess what? That's why they're called martial ARTS. The techniques work. And for 22 and a half minutes, they worked beautifully.
But ....
I want to see a re-match. Cause now Diaz know two things. Condit can beat him on the feet. And if it goes to the ground, Condit can't attack him. Diaz tried to to take it to the ground ONCE before the fifth round. Let's see a fight whereDiaze tries to take it where knows HE has the advantage.
As for Condit, I was rooting for him, so I'm feeling good. But he needs every bit of of now til GSp to work on his ground game, cause GSP will put on his ass every round.

To be fair it was an awkward position on the ground and Condit knew he was under 2 minutes from winning a title, he wasn't gonna rush anything against a desperate man, he still slipped out. Diaz would have never gotten Condit down anyhow. I am not sure Diaz even understands that wrestling is a part of MMA cause he still hasn't figure out he is competing in a sport.

I have no problem with the way Condit fought, loved it if you really want my opinion on it. Technical masterpiece imo.
But the consensus? They don't share my opinion, this was more of an image/hype question because a lot of people have turned on Condit because of one fight and everyone knows GSP is considered boring by the majority so a lot of people are gonna put down their fight but if Condit was to finish someone I think it'd do a lot of good for the overall fight hype for GSP/Condit.

A bunch of people on the interwebs call GSP boring, in general the #s don't lie and don't reflect that opinion. He is the PPV king second to none now. He sold PPV's with Dan Hardy and you think he can't sell them with Condit in a fight that can be billed as Champion vs Champion?
