I heard this being mentioned in a Dana White interview with some Swedish reporter, what's your take on it.

Honestly, as much as I abhor women's MMA, I'd love to see a Women's TUF. In fact, I think all TUF's should be with women. Just for the shenanigans in the house rather than the actual fights.

ever heard of "fight girls"? this is the show where Michelle Waterson comes from. more like Muay Thai/Kickboxing stuff than MMA, but still, a little like TUF. Brandon Vera's wife also was featured in the show

the pros
- hot chicks
- fighting

the cons
- the don't really show the fights, more like "extended highlights"
- the drama was kinda meh

but yea, I've seen season 1 (not sure if the ever did a season 2, but season 1 felt like it was season 2 because they kept reffering to something that happened beforehand)

it was also fairly hard to come by (found a torrent back in the days, took me weeks to complete)

This is really retarded. How is striking not an inter gender activity? Do breasts and a vagina inhibit your ability to throw a punch or learn to kick properly? Does it take too much time away from them making you a sandwich?

Seriously these kind of comments piss me off. Narrow minded, hypocritical sexist bullshit. What is so different about two women fighting as opposed to two men? Do you know what the answer is besides plumbing?

Nothing. Not. A. Damn. Thing. You basically don't want these women to be able to make a living doing what they love because you don't want to watch it. The exact same attitude that almost killed mma to start with.

I honestly hate women striking. I'd much rather watch them grapple. And it's not even a sexual thing....I just don't feel striking is an inter-gender activity...I mean hell, even with Cyborg, she's basically a man with all the T she injects.
Yes. This is not even a joke. It's fact. Few women have the natural athleticism and coordination to strike at a high level, and the ones that do (see Cyborg) are highly suspect and might have ambiguous genitalia due to steroid use and testosterone injections. Just like Chyna from the WWF.

Probably that women aren't naturally predisposed towards combat. It's simple science, really.

Well yeah, that's generally how it works.
qq moar please.

It's not made for athletics in general, but they can grapple OK, as long as they aren't facing other men.

I don't mind watching Women's Freestyle, or Women's Grappling(No-Gi) or even straight BJJ.

I used to hate women's MMA with a passion but it's getting a little better. Most of the top fighters are grapplers for obvious reasons because the strikers will never cut it but Tate and Rousey was fun to watch. Ronda is great for the sport.

In a reality show, the drama would be intense and I'd love to see how they reacted to being in the house, take a bunch of wrestlers, grapplers and judo girls and put em in there. Also unlike the male TUF there is bound to be some lesbians since like 60 percent of athletic women are and there might even be some sexcapades lmao...

Not in this case. It's all you. Nothing of what you talk about is supported by science or nature. It's just the ramblings of an idiot trying to convince others of his rampant stupidity.

What you are saying is the equivalent of saying, "There will never be a good Jewish boxer. Jews don't have the coordination to strike. It's science."

If Showtime ran an equivelant style of show, with the prize being a Strikeforce contract then I'd definitely watch it, thanks to mouthy b*tches like Rousey (as much as I hate her) WMMA is getting attention. IMO WMMA is far more exciting than Men's MMA, as long as the program isn't degraded by sexing up the show it should be as exciting and popular as TUF.

How is "established" that women are necessarily less coordinated to any significant degree?

Some of the people (including some women) who post on this board aren't thrilled with your attitude. You are welcome to hold your opinion, but take a little more care the way you express it.

Is this a serious post?

Research found that men tend to use one side of their brain (particularly the left side for verbal reasoning) while women tend to use both cerebral areas for visual, verbal and emotional responses. These differences in brain use cause a difference in behavior between men and women. Women tend to be better at sensing emotional messages in conversations, gestures, and facial expressions, and are thus more sensitive. Women start to speak and read at an earlier age than men and are generally better in verbal skills, such as learning a different language. They tend to have a better grasp on grammar and spelling, and girls have better handwriting than boys do. Women have better sight at night and have a more acute sense of smell, taste and hearing.

Men are better in spatial coordination and have a better sense of direction (usually!). They excel in math and are great at interpreting three-dimensional objects. They have a better hand-eye coordination and more precise control of large muscle movement. They have poor peripheral vision but better sight in bright light and a better sense of perspective. Since they use one side of their brain more than the other, they tend to use the left side for verbal reasoning and the right for visual and emotional activities (if they are right handed).

These differences are not rules. It is easy to find women who excel in math and men who have excellent language skills (and it is even easier to find men with no sense of direction). Chances are the above statements are not going to work for your everyday situation, but these have been shown to be true in scientific studies, based on large, diverse populations. When looking at large populations, these differences between men and women become evident, and proper statistical analysis takes care of the exceptions.

Not that it wasn't ******* obvious or anything based on every single sport in the history of mankind. It'd be a miracle if a woman basketball player in the history of the sport even managed to pull off a double clutch reverse layup. :confused05:

Watching women play ball sports is outright painful. Like I said, submission grappling isn't really a heavy-athletic sport and although wrestling IS, a non-athletic style of wrestling works very well too(see Ben Askren, Cole Konrad, etc), so it's generally fine....the striking however always looks heinous(even Cyborg compensates for technique with pure, testosterone aided power) and it's generally ugly to see two women punching each other in the face....no matter how butch one of the parties may be.

I'd watch a Women's TUF if the chicks were actually talented, I've warmed up to Women's MMA but I just don't think they have enough good women to make competitive divisions.
