Michael Chiesa
Very disappointed with this guy. I expected an explosive fighter...he's nothing but a leg humper.

I don't see him winning the tournament, let alone making the finals. He did much better in his fight to get into the house, so perhaps it was just nerves. Fighting after his father died probably had him wanting simply to win more than anything else.

Which tournament? The TUF? !!!
He even didn't deserve the "W" !!! All the time was just after a leg, or sleeping on top of his opponent. Plus, before he went for the KNEE to a ground fighter, his coaches told him NOT to knee the guy, but he DID!!
His size was the ONLY difference to poor Larsen.

He could very well make the finals now that Cruckshank and Jury are out. The only thing he has to worry about is not being viewed as one of the two "worst" guys out there so he doesn't get fed to Lawerence or Iaquinta.
Team Cruz - Rio, Sicilia, Tickle, Pinchel
Team Faber - Proctor, Cofer, Ogle, Saunders
I would say Rio was the only guy I could have seen doing anything in the comp but he's injured.
Dominic Cruz really did ruin this season.

Both fighters looked like shit.
You've got to laugh though when people go out and shit on fight winners that dominated (even if it was in a boring fashion) What about Lawrence? He couldn't get anything going for himself against the supposedly one dimensional fighter.
Then he whines like a baby about the decision. First off even if they had deducted a point he still got dominated which makes it a 9-9 round.
Combine that with the 2nd round which was another round for Chiesa and you have a winner.
Secondly the knee was obviously accidental and Chiesa apologised. Dude made an ass of himself on live TV by both losing to the supposed shit fighter and then crying like Tito.
Bad showing for both men, but Lawrence needs to learn some sportsmanship.

I know you meant Larsen so I won't mention that, and I agree. Why did anybody think that was a draw? Your opponent getting a point taken away doesn't automatically give you 10 points. He did nothing before and after the knee, and the funny thing is.. Chiesa was dominating more before he threw the knee with the slams and decent elbows. After that, he seemed more passive.
Larsen had an awful game plan and when ever he reversed position in the clinch, he would just hug the superior wrestler instead of creating space and working his boxing. Then in the second round, Chiesa didn't look great, but he clearly got a 10-9 round, especially when he took Larsen's back in the end. If they weren't so close to the cage, he may have gotten a rear naked choke win.
Anybody who says "Chiesa didn't win that fight!" must be allowing his strategy in that fight to cloud their judgment. It wasn't a pretty win, but it was an easy fight to score. The guy playing it safe beats the guy who does literally NOTHING throughout the fight and then complain that he lost because of a knee. You didn't lose because of the knee Larsen, you lost because you did nothing before and after the knee, and if anything, he looked better after the knee was thrown than before it was.
That being said, even though Chiesa didn't look great, I could still see him going far. No one has really stood out in the competition yet. He could have also been playing it safe because he knew he already had a point taken away. Points mean everything in a 2 round fight.
To the guy who mentioned the knee, I wouldn't hold that against Chiesa too much. His coaches told him to throw the knee right before Larsen crouched down, and then they told him not too immediately after in a very vague way. It's easy to get confused and caught up in that situation, especially when everybody is yelling and he's not just focusing on what people are saying.

Chiesa isn't a bad fighter, but he isn't going to win the season. In fact, I really don't see how anybody is going to beat Justin Lawrence.

Chiesa is not as bad as most are putting on. And I think if Lawrence goes against him Chiesa could do the same thing as this last fight.

I'm not sold on Lawrence yet. He looked good in the qualifying round, but we have all seen many fighters look good, but then go on to be underwhelming. He didn't look that great against Marcello, and let's be honest, Marcello's strategy in that fight was to be tentative and throw lazy leg kicks while leaving his chin way out there as if he were asking to be knocked out. He didn't give Lawrence much to work with so that could be the reason, but we need to see more of Lawrence before we decide he's going to win this season by a land slide. I'm not saying he isn't a favorite, but he's so young and inexperienced, a lot of questions need to be answered about him. Chiesa would be a good test for him. I don't see him abandoning his game plan or trying to go toe to toe with Lawrence to prove something like Marcello tried to do.
