TUF The Smashes discussion
Not a topic for discussion on this yet, so here it is!
Just watche the first episoe yesterday. I really like it, first impressions are its gonna be a lot more interesting than the normal TUF.
The lightweight division is really good, not so impressed by the welterweight division (though the UK welters look huuuuge!).
Alloway got a decent win, thought Petrescu was getting the better of it before he got caught.
I think the UK guys are a bit too advanced for the Aussies, and they'll get the better of the fights as the season progresses.
Thumbs up from me so far though!

Thanks for the topic, that was a nice comeback by Alloway it looked like he was going down 2 rounds to none before he snuck in that big left. I couldn't catch what that ref was saying at the beginning of each round, was that "Come on let's rock this!" ? Nah, that doesn't sound right but I kept hearing it. Anyway, pretty gutsy of Sotiropoulos to pick that Valentino guy first if they really thought he was the best one on team UK.

Nice to see Freakshow get a W. He is a guy who would do well in the UFC. Not title contention well but certainly could get a few prize scalps.

got happy too, the guy is likable, definitely.
but I don't see him able to hang with the UFC lightweights, unless he gets some serious technique standing up and starts moving a little more, he really seemed static standing up.
I like the guy and I hope he'll improve, he looks like a smart guy (it does take a fairly smart guy to brand himself in such a ridicule way)
I like Tuf smashes so far, it has that "PPV prelims" feel, no big names or anything but everyone seems to be here to fight his heart out.

I'm 99% positive freakshow is a relation of Pearson.
I've heard a lot about him on the local circuits as he is from my neck of the woods.
I'll be supporting him all the way

Really enjoying this TUF series, Fletcher looked good in beating Wall, one of the tougher (and bigger) Aussie Lightweights.
I'm expecting the UK guys to be up either 6-2 or 5-3 by the end of the quarters.

Enjoying this series. Better thus far than what I expect to be a piss poor showing from the American TUF.

Pearson is from Fencehouses (Sunderland) and Fletcher is from Washington (Sunderland), they are not related but have similar accents - Pearson a south Sunderland accent and Fletcher a north Sunderland accent.
I'm from Sunderland by the way.
