so far corey

Edit- idont know y u guys r hating on him
hes not a bad fighter, puts on a show, big heart i dont know
I'm not hating on Corey, at all. With Corey, you see athletic ability and willingness to fight, but there's nothing else yet. I think someone like Bas could really mold him into a complete fighter, or at the very least, give him some Muay Thai lessons. Corey with knee's could be very, very dangerous. There's potential.

That's what I was thinking. With his wrestling ability and height I was surprised Jens didn't have him working the clinch more, throwing knees and elbows. Really he kind of used the Tim Sylvia approach. Although Corey was willing to engage a bit more than Timmy.

Same here. I thought Jens would tell Hill to use his reach more, but oh well.

I do not get Dana's mancrush on Rob Emerson, at all.

boring fight i feel cory did win the third because he pushed the action. if it was not for that it would have looked like delahyoa vs mayweather... someone needs to push the action other wise mma will become very boring.

No i don't agree, Emerson clearly won round 2. the 3rd round was closer but emmerson won it. He did more damage and connected more.

Overall i wasn't impressed with either fighter, Corey needs some serious training. I don't think he will make it all the way to the finals.

Hill's a can.

With his size advantage, he should be picking people apart with ease, and just be a beast in there. But, he's not.

If he faces someone like Gray in the 2nd Round - he's gonna be dominated.

No way he won the 3rd round...atleast not from the fight I saw. The leg kicks alone won me over...

I was screaming at my tv for a tap at the end of the second...thats how saw the fight ending before hand. An 8" reach advantage is huge...I would have thought Emerson would have shot for more take downs...the reach wouldn't have been as big of an issue there, and it probably would have worked in Emerson's favor.

i think emerson won the 2nd and 3rd rounds for sure, but corey brings alot more hype to the scene his loud and very emotional and emerson is kinda laid back.who knows maybe thats what the ufc is looking for .there are a few fights i questioned since season 1, why did this guy win when it was pretty clear that he got his ass beat?

I think that just might be from having very little experience. I imagine after a few months training we'll see a different Corey Hill.

It might be the thongs.

i got Emerson 2 rounds to one

rd I Corey by default

rd II Emerson

rd III Emerson

to me once again proving that there is a dire need for change when it comes to the judges most of which are boxing judges who dont kno jack about mma

Cant believe so many people got emerson's back so much. He fought like shit. He was as aggressive as a turtle and he did as much damage as a category one cloud cover. Corey pushed the pace more hit more head shots that's why he won. Every single ****ing time Emerson tried to have a flurry Corey would grab him by the head and uppercut him in the face. Did you guys not catch that? Seriously Emerson won like 3 or 4 exchanges the whole fight if not less. And the leg shots didnt do anything cuz Corey continued to win after them.

Neither fighter's good at all but Corey won the fight

I agree. Because of the 10/9 round system Emerson kinda had the edge the first 2 rounds. But Hill won the third.

Man he will be dominated by any of the peeps already thru to the next rd.

Manny may have some probs due to the huge size difference.

Emerson clearly won the fight, it was not a great fight by any means but Emerson did more damage and defended the takedowns very well and applied the only submission attempt in the whole fight.

if emerson

performed more aggresively than they would have awarded it to him

I don't think that EITHER fighter won the fight.

Corey didn't win but Emerson didn't win it either.

If I had to choose I would choose Emerson based on the second round and both other rounds a virtual snorefest.

When the third round started, Emerson was being handed the win on a silver platter and he didn't go take it.

MMA is as much about technique as it is about killer instinct. Emerson to me is a fighter built on technique without the killer instinct. Corey has a killer instinct but absolutely zero technique.

pathetic fight, could have been decent had either one of them not been so afraid of getting hit by a guy who woudlent ko them.

for those two crap strikers to knock eachother out one of them would have to make a huge mistake and close his eyes + put his hands down

Exactly. I thought Emerson won as well until Dana brought up a good point...Emerson was fighting to survive instead of to win.
yah same

theres no room for people that dont have that fight instinct
