People are failing to realize it was his first MMA fight. What were you expecting? Fedor? lol

He never really talked a big game, aside for the very first episode where he barked at Gabe. He's got an intense work ethic in the gym, and it shows he's enthused to fight and open to keep learning. I'll wait till he gains a little more experience before I judge. Once he learns to utilize his size advantage better and gain more confidence in there he'll potentially be a greater threat in there.

Emerson could have easily won that fight, he was just too hesitant to let go and worried far too much about those weak assed jabs.
Exactly. No power and a weak stance. He'd be fine if he were a really good technical striker, but he's not at this point. Emerson should've just traded with him.

I was really disappointed. Even if it was Corey's first fight, I thought with all that talking and intensity he would have exploded on Emerson.

What was with that weird jogging stance? Do people actually do that?

No they're not, but they sure seem to do the most of it, don't they. Check out the sports that contain mostly black athletes. Look at home much yappin' goes on in those sports. I'm a minority playing a sport that is pre-dominantly white and when we score or lay out a big hit, we act like we've done it before and move on. Not only the on-field stuff, check out the stuff that's going on off the field. What color are the majority of these athletes?? Not saying that only black athletes talk too much and cause problems, but they do most of it and it seems to be a trend that is not going to stop.

I'm assuming that you're the one who neg reped me AND called me a racist in the process, but didn't have the balls to leave your name. I'm a realist, not a racist. I have plenty of friends of all backgrounds. One of my good friends is black and he knows how I feel about the current pro sports athlete. He may not agree on all points, but he certainly doesn't think I'm a racist b/c of it. You're probably some tree-hugging liberal who lives in today's completely P.C. world and anytime someone utters a criticism towards someone of a diff. background, they're a racist. Move on man, you're never going to make it in the real world.

I thought Cory looked week and when he had opportunity to do so he didn't attack. I actually think he lacks that killer instinct. There was a couple times he landed shots that Emerson kind of sloppily defended that a more experienced fighter would have taken advantage of.

As far as the smack talkin.........it's not just a black thing for sure but it seems that's part of the game!

This is what people are missing completely. That killer instinct and realizing when to take an opportunity is something that comes with EXPERIENCE. For everyone that's on here trashing Hill, I think you're going to be in for a surprise when he fights Diaz. Diaz is a helluva fighter and is probably going to go in very aggressive when the fight starts but Hill isn't just going to stand there. He doesn't have the experience yet to know when to attack and how to pace a fight but his athletic ability will naturally come into play if someone else is the aggressor. I'm not going to go out and call a Hill victory over Diaz (yet) but I would guarantee that he will look a lot better than he did against that over-rated and lazy Rob Emerson.

As far as being all bark no bite, the only barking he's ever done since Episode 1 is just that, literally bark at people. He doesn't tell everyone how great he is, the show just gives that impression by showing his crazy workout habits and intensity. When it showed his little interview and bio segment before the fight, he seemed incredibly down to earth about everything. Also in reference to Episode 1, when he talked trash to Gabe...how many of you don't feel that was justified after seeing what a ***** Gabe turned out to be?

My Favorites:

Andrei Arlovski
Nick Diaz
Jens Pulver
Spencer Fisher
Sean Sherk
Corey Hill

There's no doubt that Hill has some major raw potential. I mean, this Emerson guy is supposed to be some big-shot, but he can't get thru to Hill. Hill will definitely become a force with more experience. In the fight game, experience is just as big as talent. I think the Diaz fight will be a good one, but I think Diaz has too much experience for Hill to handle.

Something people are missing is that Emerson isn't a joke he is a very experienced kick boxer who has fought some big name guys (Jens Pulver) Rob has some power and is a rough assignment for a guys first mma fight. If Corey rushed foward he very well might have ended up on his back.

Personally i think Nate will beat him but it'll be a pretty competitive fight unless Nate takes him down then it'll be over.

Well he is gonna have to step it up against Diaz, he's not win this one. I'm sure we'll see him in the next year so or in the Octagon after the show is over.

Feelings ... What are those?

I totally agree with you there buddy..
I would happily step into the octagon with that walking drainpipe.. (No honestly, that aint a joke, I honestly would) Im roughly the same weight as him, and reckon I would easily knock this dude out. Diaz or lauzon on the other hand, I wouldnt dream of stepping into the octagon with them..
The guy (Corey) has absouletly no technique whatsoever. He just fights like some street punk..
