No that was a really bad fight from Raquel, I think she was injured. I believe both of her fights (Evinger and Duke) were better fighters than Jessica, Jessica just got a easy draw to the finale.

Jessica likely doesn't make it out of the first round if this were an all female season.

We'll see what happens but I think Team Tate is going to steamroll Team Rousey in the finale.

They might be better fighter, but they are inferior boxers. which is all Pennington really did.

If you noticed when she wnet for her shots she wasn't even gripping her hands, she was holding her wrist rather than clasping her hands.

I don't know what Pennington was doing. It was like she was trying to not get hit. By somebody who really wasn't throwing power shots. I agree with Dana. She froze. She was up against somebody with faster hands, and she just didn't decide what to do. She just stood at Rakoczy optimal range and hoped for chances to counterpunch.

Rakoczy is fast, but that jab-the-head, jab-the-body tactic is a head kick waiting to happen. And against an opponent willing to get hit once to hit twice ..... I don't see how she's gonna keep Pena off of her.

I think both of the guys who failed to make weight made the same mistake.

They only looked at the number of pounds they had to cut thinking that if some people can cut 20 pounds, they can cut 10.

They might not have realized sugar and salt cause the body to retain water, making it impossible to cut weight.

Normal amounts of sugar don't really cause that problem like salt does. Never consume sodium during the final portion of your cut, your body wants to retain water to balance out the electrolytic levels as part of basic homeostatic maintenance. However small amounts of sugars in food are fine. They are easily converted energy sources and can help you sweat out the last few pounds more easily.

I read somewhere sugar raises insulin levels making it difficult to expel salt.

It could be a vicious cycle where salt makes it difficult to expel water. Sugar makes it difficult to expel salt. Alcohol also makes cutting weight difficult.

Both salt and sugar are crystalline and dilute in the bloodstream. I would think a person's body would require more water to dilute both sugar and salt and to maintain the same degree of hydration.

Can't say I know exactly how metabolism and other things function.

I believe the mistake was thinking they could do the cut three times in six weeks.

I went back and looked at Rakoczy's elimination fight vs Revelina Berto and a couple of things stood out. Rakoczy is REALLY vulnerable to submissions. Berto had serious threats with armbar, triangle and heel hook. The other thing was, with her arm hyper-extended, Rakoczy picked up Berto and slammed her. Not that many 135 women can really do that, expecially with only one arm to work with.

I don't like how Rakoczy fights. She's a point fighter if the opponent doesn't force the action. But she's physically strong and has very quick hands. Six weeks in the house could do very good things for a fighter that raw.

Gotta say I was really please with the lack of sexual drama this season, everyone actually acted like adults in the house for a change, never would have exected them to come off so well when they announced men and women.
