That Jesamyn Duke girl looked good uses her length well and seems to have a really good ground game but he lack of physical strength may turn out to be a problem against some of the bigger stronger women.

She reminds me of Nancy Kerrigan and the other Tanya Harding I guess. :dunno:

Why does Miesha always have a smirk on her face.

Great season opener, the female housemates seem to have way better personalitles than the coaches. Morgan, Duke and Rakoczy looked real impressive!

Glad to see my 3 females to watch, as highlighted in my blog, made it through. Duke, Baszler and Modaferri fought amazing fights: http://www.mmaforum.com/blogs/sugar-free_lizag/14081-tuf-18-cast-my-three-watch.html

Evinger sadly looked a shell of her former self in there, very wasted potential.

I didn't watch it but all the competitors at least on the men's side look mediocre, none of the male competitors sound remotely better than mid tier. I was reading bleacher report and bloodyelbow on how the fighters went is where I got my info.

Your research is pretty dubious.

Holdsworth is a BJJ black belt with a wrestling background, Chris Beal is an extremely athletic boxer/wrestler with a wrestling background.

Bollinger is solid.

Gutierrez had a well publicized amateur background and was listed on BE as a top 3 BW prospect 4 fights into his pro career.

And Josh Hill is a pretty good athlete and top control wrestler....probably not top 10 though.

Better guys than the usual shit you see on TUF.

Baszler shouldn't even be in this. She should already be in the UFC. How they fought based on experience I think Duke showed the most potential. Out of the men, that black guy that survived cancer seemed to have plenty of power and the team alpha male kid showed some slick BJJ.

Sorry for not remembering the names of some of the fighters but I've only seen the episode once, late last night on my laptop so my concentration wasn't the best. I hope to watch the episode again tomorrow.

I watched about 40 minutes of the first episode, not impressed, not very entertained. Switched it to Always Sunny instead. Don't plan on tuning in much, I think the annoying level from the coaches is going to be through the roof. Season ought to be about as good as TUF is I'd imagine, not good. Heard the show bombed in the ratings as well, not surprised, I don't think Rousey is the draw some people wish she is.

I agree...I tried watching the replay and decided it just wasn't worth it given all the skips and buffering I was going to have to do to skip those unwatchable chick fights...and I can't stand Tate on my television.

Awful season...hopefully Dana never pulls this crap again.

Yeah, the thing is the first episode of TUF is usually the best of the entire season by a very wide margin. Just wasn't getting all that into the action edited in front of me Wednesday night. Didn't sound like I missed anything all that noteworthy after switching channels.

You mean Berto? She threw like one punch standing and to me it looked like she has her family athleticism, Andre might not be a great boxer, but as far as explosiveness and speed... nobody bar maybe Melvin Guillard come even close.

So yea, i hope we see her again too.

chick fights were great, I for one am looking forward for this season. Last season was great too IMO.
The level of talent, I don't even care, as long as it's fun to watch.

I enjoy watching fights with more "average" fighters too because they tend to go for it more. I like the chess match as much as anybody, but average fighters more often than not get into slugfests.

gotta love that nerdy girl too, I was impressed with her awareness in the cage.

I think Tate has got the much better team on the men's side, but Rousey the much better team on the women's side.

I'll go for Jessamyn Duke to win the women's side, and Josh Hill to grind out the win on the mens side.

I'll be pulling for Tate this season. There's just something about Rousey that I just don't like at all. Not sure if it's the arrogance, or underlying sense of entitlement, chuck the toys out the pram attitude or what.

Just can't put my finger on it but I'd dare to say Tate comes off this season having gained more fans than Ronda.

Just watched the first episode and I already know that I will be fast forwarding through all the drama ESPECIALLY the drama between Ronda and Miesha. I literally hated it from the moment Tate walked through the door and Ronda was getting all passive aggressive.

Still watching the first episode right now.. But I just wanted to say this.

Roxanne Modafferi is adorable... That is all.

Not even being disrespectful. Her smile and her personality make me go "aww.."

I can't stand some of the girls personalities. Shayna looked like she was just trying her hardest to do a Michelle Rodriguez on screen impression, and Peggy seems like she is arrogant about her size. "I wouldn't wanna fight me." You're only 2-0, relax. I hope she gets humbled by someone significantly smaller than her.

I hope The Happy Warrior wins it all. :)
