I dunno, in Jens' blog it seems as if Marlon was pretty popular and helpful with the team. The cameras showed them laughing at him a lot, but the way Jens talks it was all in good fun and no one really hated him for it. I think Joe was just writing all this because he knows people (fans and readers) wanna hear about that stuff.

Great bit by Joe Lauzon, and a great post.
I do think that Andy was a little bit hard headed. When an instructor tells you to stop, you stop. You can go work on conditioning or something else to keep your body going while you're not rolling or drilling, but you don't get to keep going when an instructor is telling you not to. Especially if it's BJ Penn.
As for Marlon, I sort of figured he was full of sh*t from the clips that they showed, but they didn't show all of the stuff that Joe was talking about, just when he was bragging about his street fights.
Frankly, I'm glad that Wiman kicked his ass and I'm glad that Joe has stepped forward to say something about it and give us some insight beyond what they've shown on the show.

So he kicked Wang off, and didn't kick the guy riding a scooter with a beer in his hand through the training center. Makes sense.
It was obvious BJ just kicked Andy off to look like some kind of hard ass for attention.

No, he kicked him off rather than Rob because when Rob was d!cking around it wasn't during training. Wang supposedly didn't listen to anyone not only during his fight but also every day during training. He probably realized that after Gabe got kicked off it made his job a little easier, since Gabe was always a distraction. Wang was the next biggest distraction on the team, because he was constantly doing shit his own way and BJ and the coaches would have to cater to his dumbass more than they should have had to. So he prolly figured kicking the other dumbass distraction off the team would help him accomplish what Dana was yelling at him for.

From what I’ve seen most of the top fighters have a very cerebral side, they tend to be quiet and analyze things before saying (or doing) something stupid. Joe has a good chance of winning the entire thing because all the other fighters are caught up in the game of trying to be more cool or more tough than the next guy, Joe is busy analyzing each fighter and thinking how he is going to smash them.

It was a good read and I do agree joe seems to have his head screwed on right. I thing joe has a little love affair going on with BJ's nutz those. BJ was being a good general... hardly.. BJ hasn't been the best coach. That started with the selection process. He gets reamed by dana, who does get to see the things we dont, and he runs out, blames all his problems on wang and kicks him off the team. Its like all the decisions he loses. he blames them on the judges and not take responsibilty for his own actions. BJ loses decisions because yes, he comes out and does damage in the first round and then gases and loses the rest of the rounds. Looks likes he's teaching his guys on the show the same work ethic. Blaming wang is a joke. if wang has been a problem, he should have dealt with it before. hate to say it, tito has still been the best coach I have seen...
