TUF 19 cast released for 'Edgar vs Penn'

Quote:
The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 19 has its coaches in the former of featherweight rivals and ex-lightweight champions Frankie Edgar and BJ Penn, and now it has a complete cast.

16 middleweights (185 pounds) and 16 light heavyweights (205 pounds).

TUF 19 officially gets underway on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 10 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1, following the conclusion of TUF: "Nations" Finale, headlined by Michael Bisping vs. Tim Kennedy (more on that here). Each contestant will be forced to fight their way into the house.

Here's the official TUF 19 cast:

Corey Anderson (3-0), 24, Lincoln, Ill.
Cathal Pendred (13-2), 26, Dublin, Ireland
Kelly Anundson (6-1), 29, Deerfield Beach, Fla.

Josh Clark (7-2), 29, Richmond, Ky.
Daniel Spohn (8-3), 29, Columbus, Ohio
Chris Fields (8-4), 30, Dublin, Ireland
Joshua Stansbury (4-2), 29, East Liverpool, Ohio
Matthew Gabel (8-3), 28, Le Mars, Iowa
Ian Stephens (4-0), 25, Ringgold, Ga.
Lyman Good (15-3), 28, New York, N.Y.
Adam Stroup (5-1), 27, Denver, Colo.
Eddie Gordon (6-1), 29, Uniondale, N.Y.
Nordine Taleb (8-2), 32, Montreal, Canada
Jacob Heun (6-3), 26, Coconut Creek, Fla.
Hector Urbina (16-8), 26, Coconut Creek, Fla.
Mike King (5-0), 30, Naples, Fla.
Matt Van Buren (6-2), 27, Chula Vista, Calif.
Tyler King (7-1), 33, North Attleboro, Mass.
Bojan Velickovic (8-2), 33, Delray Beach, Fla.
Dhiego Lima (8-1), 33, Sugar Hill, Ga.
Daniel Vizcaya (7-2), 28, Aurora, Ill.
Adrian Miles (14-5), 30, Biloxi, Miss.
Patrick Walsh (4-1), 25, Stoughton, Mass.
Tyler Minton (5-1), 26, Johnson City, Tenn.

Roger Zapata (5-1), 27, New York, N.Y.
Cody Mumma (5-1), 30, Henderson, Colo.

Only 31 names in a cast of 32 ... so I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens on episode one to find out why. The winner of season 19 gets a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a six-figure contract with UFC.

TUF 19 Finale -- headlined by "Edgar vs. Penn 3" -- was recently announced for Mandalay Bay Events Center on Sun., July 6, 2014, which takes place less than 24 hours after Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) ties a ribbon around its UFC 175 pay-per-view (PPV) event inside the same venue in Las Vegas, Nevada (details).

Lima brothers remind me a lot of the Diaz brothers in the cage. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Dhiego Lima won just like Nate did. I also fully expect to see Douglas Lima fighting for the UFC title one day...but I'm a huge fan so I got the fan vision going on. Still, talented fighters.

Recognize about 8 of them. Lima then Good are my picks at 185. 205 is difficult.

Lima and Good are fighting at 185? I don't like them as much at that weight.

damn, I didn't notice that when I was looking over the names. I don't like Lima's chances at that weight, especially against a true MW with wrestling.

What's the deal with Taleb being on this season as well? Has this happened before?

Yeah, an unknown alpha wrestler is always a wild card, haven't researched those guys I've never heard of though, probably won't. Don't plan on watching any of this aside from good fights later the next day.

Myles Jury, was on Brock/JDS and Faber/Cruz - interestingly enough neither main event happened.

He's not the only one this season, Tim Williams and Jacob Heun where on Sonnen/Jones both of whom washed out in the fight to get in the house round.
