I know Jens has dynamite hands and is good at stand-up, but we're talking about BJ Penn, in the Bad Blood show on Spike, BJ had a conditioning coach, he was running and doing stuff to actually be in shape, I think we'll see a new BJ coming in for this fight, I think he's gonna be determined, in shape, and a beast, I only see Pulver winning by a first round knockout, if not, I'm calling BJ by sumbission (watch that left shoulder Jens).

*Edit* - I just realized this is on of the longest sentences ever.

Jens is the underdog in this fight, just like he was in their first fight. I can see BJ getting too emotional and making a mistake.

WAR PULVER!

Well, unfortunately your opinion means just about nothing to official decisions. BlowJob Penn lost, get over it.

As for staying on topic, I agree with the threadstarter(which is a surprise because I rarely agree with what he says). BJ is the winner on paper, but again, don't count on Jens, we saw what happened last time everyone counted him out vs BJ.

But damn, BJ sure looked in shape on Bad Blood last night. We'll see.

I think penn is gonna win the fight. He almost won the first fight, at the end of the second round he had jens in an armbar and jens started to tap but the bell rang and big john spilt them up.

Top 5:
Rampage
Mark Hunt
Anderson Silva
Clay Guida
kazuhiro nakamura

I wanted to start this thread, but felt it would open a can of worms. Plus, it's not like I'm a huge Jens Pulver fan.

I just hate when evreryone counts a guy out against doing what he already did.

Jens beat BJ, and it wasn't by some quick one punck KO. No. He won a hard fought decision. That can't be considered a fluke.

Even if BJ almost subbed him at the end of the second round, Jens did not let himself get caught until the end of the round. Not that he allowed it to happen, he just didn't put himself in a risky position before then in the bout. That's smart.

BJ is a great fighter, but whenever he loses people make excuses for him. They did this with Matt Hughes too.

Matt was being overwhelmed by Penn until BJ broke a rib and Matt finished him.

Why didn't Matt break a rib when he was fighting for his life against BJ's offense? Because he knew that if he weathered BJ's storm, he was in proper shape to take over. He rode it out and pushed BJ so hard that it caused Penn to break a rib.

BJ Penn broke his rib because of Matt Hughe's intensity. Matt made him break a rib.

I like BJ, but he lost these two fights legitimately and if he's not prepared, he'll lose to Pulver again.

I wouldn't bet against it.

lets not forget the guy has beat bj before, he has great striking, wrestling and a decent ground game which is why he beat bj in the first place.

bottom line i think everyone needs too wakeup and realize this is jens pulver where talking about here, not some can.

lets give jens a little credit and not refer too him as a has been after just one bad preformance.

lots of fighters have bad days:

forrest vs. jardine

gsp vs.serra

i could name a list
I think people are basing their feelings on Pulver more on his disappointing fights in Japan than on just his loss to Lauzon. Pulver hasn't really done anything impressive for quite some time now.

I actually think Pulver can win this, cos I have a feeling Bj might try to stand with him. Come on, if you don't like someone, your gonna wanna punch them in the face. I think hell try to stand and get knocked out early in the fight.

Yep, and they did it for GSP, CroCop, Arlovski, Chuck and will do it for every other high ranked fighter out there. I don't mind when people 'make excuses' because it shows that they're fans and stick behind their guy despite losing.
