Ex-TUF Fighters - Worth another look?

TUF 3 (Ortiz-Shamrock):

Kalib Starnes (16-8-1) is probably best remember for getting on his bike and peddling all the way home against Nate Quarry in 2008, after being cut from the UFC following that escapade Kalib went on a poor run of 4-5 from 2008-2012. Since then however he seems to have finally found some consistency and is 4-0 since the turn of 2013 with a fight lined up against Dave Herman next month, could a win here see him win a recall to the UFC?

TUF 9 (UK-USA):

Frank Lester (9-6) was the Welterweight who lost to eventual winner James Wilks twice, is currently riding a 30fight winning streak with all three wins taking place in 2012.

TUF 11 (Liddell-Ortiz/Franklin):

Joseph "Leonidas" Henle (9-1) possibly best remembered for eliminating Costas Philippou before entry to the house. Currently 9-1 with some decent wins over regional talent. Worth a punt?

Norman Paraisy (13-3-2) was the French fighter qho quit on his stool during the elimination fight to get into the house who rather comically (and regretfully) claimed French fighters will not quit. Despite this he has since competed against good competition and is undefeated in his last four.

Anymore?

Rob Emerson - 7-1 (with 5 finishes) since his UFC run... Jus sayin.

For me personally my list would look something like this.

Tommy Speer - TUF 6 finalist - released after a 2 fight losing streak in the UFC. Speer is currently 9-4 since leaving the promotion holding losses to the likes of Mats Nilsson and Ryan Ford.

Ben Saunders - TUF 6 - Maybe coming off a loss to Doug Lima. But Saunders has been a very exciting and entertaining fighter who has won 8 of his last 11 fights.

Jesse Taylor - Season 7 - Removed from the show before getting to fight in the TUF final. Taylor memorably lost a fight to CB Dolloway at a fight night before getting cut. Since that time Jesse has proven himself to being a high level fighter currently on a 7 fight win streak.

Sako Chivitchian - TUF 12 - A high level judo practioner who lost a close decision on the tuf 12 finale to Kyle Watson. Since that time is o a 3 fight win streak.

Josh Hill - Tuf 18 - May not be the most exiting style of fighter but Hill is a class grappler who is currently 9-0.

Michael Wootten - Tuf 18 - Aother undefeated Bantamweight prospect from Tuf 18. Wootten's only loss on the show was to eventual winner Chris Holdsworth.

I have no idea what he is doing these days but I'd love to see Luke Cummo back in the cage... The weird bastard.

Last i heard, Cummo was wanted by police. Don't know what he did though.

Ben Saunders is now signed with Titan.

Yeah erm, I'm thinking he wont be back:

“Whatever happened to that guy?” is a common question MMA fans ask about retired or forgotten fighters. Usually, the answer is boring and mundane — except when Luke Cummo is involved.

Cummo’s exploits outside the cage have gotten consistently more entertaining as time has gone on. One day he’s getting busted for a DWI, the next day he’s snorting urine. Now, he’s reforming (and hating) the sport of mixed martial arts.

“It’s called MMA but it’s very dangerous. Trust me. I’ve been there. It’s damaging — to children…As a parent, I would never recommend fighting for somebody’s baby,” Cummo said in a recent video on his YouTube channel that you can watch above. “It’s a mindless, stupid industry profiting from the spilled blood of the innocent, honest to god.”

Cummo took issue with MMA gloves and how they don’t protect people from knees and elbows, as well as the inherent violence in MMA.

“You have to put on gloves…but then you’re gonna kick and you’re gonna knee and you’re gonna elbow the other guy — somebody’s baby. There’s no padding on those things…and that’s another living being over there, a precious life. I feel for you as a soldier. I used to be one. You’re not a stupid beast. Nobody is. You’re not a programmable killing machine. You are, still, now and for all time, your parent’s baby to be cherished and nourished, not to kill or be killed. That’s old school, we’re cutting edge over here.”

I wish Ben Saunders would come back. He is a cool dude. He trains here in Orlando so I see him around a lot. Always nice.
