EMERSON got screwed? Did you watch the fight? Gray was getting the upper hand in every aspect, make Emerson tap, and ****s up once, then its a no contest. Maynard got screwed.

Maynard screwed his own chances by knocking himself out. It doesn't matter what led up to that. But I still say the NC was probably appropriate since both men were unable to continue fighting at the same time.

I actually think the No Contest is the right call in this case, but if anyone should get the win, it's Gray. Southpaw and myself are saying that Matt Hughes got the victory in what was pretty much the same situation. I just wish they would stay consistent on the call one way or another. Whether it's a win or a NC, it should have been the same thing for both fights.

It was a good call.

There are good arguments on both sides. But if you really want to get technical about it Gray was out instantly. The second his forehead hit the mat he was unconscious. Emerson however, despite wrenching in pain from his injury, did at least wait a couple seconds (maybe 2 or 3 seconds at the very most) to start tapping. So if you really wanted to nit pick this, Gray was unable to continue before Emerson tapped. It’s just hard to think of it that way because Gray was on top so it looked like he was holding a position when he was really just laying there.

And if you go back and watch the replay, Gray's arm was not caught under Emerson. Also, look at Gray's right foot when he rolls over. It looked like it was stretched out and stiff (like what happens when you’re knocked out).

Either way, I think a NC was a good call. Clearly, both fighters could not continue and were injured pretty much at the exact same time.
