The episode opens with Aisling Daly and Justine Kish saying hello to each other in the morning with Daly mentioning that she isn’t in the house to make friends. Kish then goes to friend Daly’s opponent and Kish’s friend Jessica Penne and says she feels Daly doesn’t like her. Penne however wants to stay out of the drama in the house and concentrate on her training. She goes to the gym later that day and works primarily with Kish on her striking which includes knees as Daly is known to have an unorthodox style while Daly works out alone and focuses on her striking as well.
Later the remaining contestants go to a Harley-Davidson dealer.
After one training session Daly is walking out to the hallway. On her way out she runs into teammate and training partner Conor McGregor. McGregor is in Las Vegas for media obligations in preparation for his fight with Dustin Poirier. He gives her words of encouragement to Daly and greets Daly’s teammates such as Scottish woman Joanne Calderwood but she is able to advise him not to encourage Penne. With renewed motivation, Daly goes into the match intent on bringing the belt back to Ireland and her teammates.
Before the match Team Pettis head coach Anthony Pettis predicts that Penne will have the advantage earlier in the match whereas Daly will have the advantage later in the match as it progresses. During the first round it appears as Daly has a slight advantage but it’s close. The second round goes more in favor of Penne and as a result there is a third round. This time Penne controls Daly on the ground utilizing her grappling and takes her down multiple times. The match is scored in favor of Penne and Gilbert Melendez applauds the judges of the fact that it went for a third round.
It is previewed that in the next episode both of the remaining quarterfinal matches will take place. First seeded Carla Esparza will face the third seeded Tecia Torres who will have another chance at redemption.
In the other match Calderwood will face Team Melendez’s only remaining member in rising young prospect Rose Namajunas. In the previews it appears that Namajunas once again mentally breaks down from the pressure and does so right in the middle of practice right by the Octagon as the pressure of the match causes her to mentally crack.
