high school teachers are required to have a BFA and enough additional credits to almost equal a masters degree (many just take the extra 16-18 credits and get their MFA. also, you have to pass PRAXIS I and II exams. then every 2 years after you GET the teaching job you have to pass recertification exams and complete a minimum 18 credit hours to keep your job. EVERY 2 YEARS. a high school teacher who has taught for more than 4 years could be well on their way to a PhD.
and on top of that they have to deal with high school kids who are the second most infuriating group of people in the universe.
don't knock teachers.
