This guy looks... different...

Not often you see a total intellectual in the UFC (exept Rich Franklin). Part of the east european culture i guess 8for instance, Karelin was a very educated person). Thoughts?

The Ultimate Fighter: Dorian Price

here is another one with an MBA..

not really surprising as more and more people realize the value of a good education..

also, a bachelor's degree is not enough for success these days...

I would hardly call some dopey high school teacher an intellectual.

Intellectual and educated aren't really the same thing, and Rich is only a high school teacher. I doubt he's that highly educated.

Rich got a Master's. That's a grad level degree. Most people get BA/BS - Bachelor's degrees. He got a Master's. That's above the normal education level - higher. Thus: Highly educated.

All of these guys have "higher" education. (graduate level education) I reserve judgment on calling someone an intellectual until they put out a book.

Still, we'll see how well the smart guys do on the show. Intelligence in a classroom doesn't always transition to creativity or innovativeness on the mat and in the cage.

A lot of fighters have went to college and everything, which doesn't exactly get you the job you need or want. So the ones that know how to fight, do so, and we get our money that way lol...

I cant imagine doing the same thing over and over again every day. Fighting is the one thing that gives me excitement in my life, and the thrilling feel of someone tapping out or seeing them fall from a KO, is a wicked feeling!

I wish all of the guys in TUF this season the best of luck.

I say that a lot too if some random kid will come in saying hes really smart and can figure out guys in the ring/cage/whatever I just laugh. Street smarts over book smarts when it comes to cage fighting.

FYI, my mom has Master's, too. In Library Science. I consider her smart and I love her to death, but to be not really very educated. Or, to be honest, intelligent. Degrees are about dedication, not intelligence. Admittedly, educated, he is that.
