Episode 1: Redemption

Based on the theme of the show being redemption, fighters from various past seasons have returned to the show for a chance at $250,000 and another chance in the UFC.

Coaching opposite each other are current UFC Bantamweight Champion Cody Garbrandt and former UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw. The two are former Team Alpha Male teammates and because of Dillashaw’s departure from the gym to train with former Team Alpha Male coach Duane Ludwig, Garbrandt holds a grudge towards Dillashaw.

Dana White notes on the introduction that fighters will get $10,000 for every win and the fighters negotiate for $20,000 for every finish.

After an assessment with both coaches, the teams are drafted with Dillashaw taking first pic as follows:

Team Dillashaw: James Krause, Jesse Taylor, Ramsey Nijem, Dhiego Lima, Joe Stevenson, Tom Gallacchio, Gilbert Smith

Team Garbrandt: Seth Baczynski, Mehdi Baghdad, Eddie Gordon, Hector Urbina, Hayder Hassan, Julian Lane, Justin Edwards

Also of note is that the fights are chose by each coach every other fight and the wildcard round is back.

The first two fights chose by Garbrandt and Dillashaw respectfully are Bacsynski vs. Smith and Krause vs. Urbina.

Unfortunately Urbina starts out the show over twenty pounds overweight and eventually withdraws from the fight and show before the weigh-ins the next day. He is replaced with Johnny Nunez who is to face Krause at a later date.

Before the weigh-ins of Smith and Bacsynski, because of some tensions between the two, Garbrandt gets involved and a brawl breaks out between him and Dillashaw.

In the first fight, Smith uses his superior wrestling to take down and ground and pound Bacsynski for a decision victory.

Garbrandt announces that the next fight will be between Gordon and Gallacchio.
