I really really wanted Dan to win this fight, cause he seems like a real solid dude, and i didnt so much like the guy he was fighting. But Dan was getting beat up in the last round bad, however that does show that he can take punishment pretty well. I dont think he ever really let it all hang out in this fight. He has what it takes to be a good fighter he just needs more fights under his belt, and learn to really go for it when he fights.

I'm actually surprised. The entire episode focused on Barrera, and then he loses. We barely even got to see the other guy.

From what we saw, though, he's a real asshole. Really? You're going to take care of Barrera's wife? Really? Dick.

And Serra. I know it's a pissing contest between you and Hughes, but are you really hi-fiving when you think another fighter broke his hand? All class, that guy.

Hughes comes off as being a bit petulant as well (he really threatens to quit? Is it possible that he might pull a Scarola?). And as kind of a bully (when he beats on Barrera, who was his first pick!)

I like Serra, but reluctantly, I agree that wasn't too cool.

I think Barrera had a lesson coming, but not the injury, though Hughes did not intend that I'm sure and I doubt it helped Dan and Hughes' team any in the fight.

I dunno, i expected alot from him, and i can see why Hughes was sorta pissed.

Inexperience def played its role here. I mean, the guy's on his back and you're trying to punch his legs? How they hell do you think of that sh1t cause thats retarded no offense to dan but it was.

And he should learn to listen to his coaches Team hughes "BACK UP" Dan-punches ben's leg

Damn he does have alot of potential. Should go to chute boxe or team couture or something. If he added some striking skills and stuff he would be a whole lot better since the dude has the work ethic of sherk.

Agreed -- Barrera is a monster. But apparently, lacks any technique whatsoever.

People are talking about his striking that needs improving (I agree). But when you see that he's so reluctant to go into the other guy's guard, is his striking his best game? I mean, I'm guessing that MOST fighters would love to be standing over their opponent, but Barrera looked paralyzed when it happened. I was hoping that the hesitation would lead to a karo-like jumping in punch.

But seriously, outside of super-fitness and a strong work ethic, I was disappointed to see that Barrera didn't have much else. Huge potential though, if he would listen to his coaches.

I know dude, i was just prayin that he would drop a huge bomb on the guys head from standing like Shogun. Instead he just stood there. Most likely his nerves just got to him, but he looked like he really wanted to do something big.

Excellent post.

The entire episode focusing on Barerra gives everyone somebody to root for. Quit the job, young & married, lots of heart. It's tough to NOT to want to go for him, especially when Ben made the snake-ish comment.

Anyways, about the fight...It was frustrating to watch Dan not listen to Hughes, especially when Ben was on the mat. Dan looked like he didn't know what to do. He'd do some awkward jump-in and sorta swing but not really...I dunno, he needs a ton more training. Ben looked a bit more skilled - even if it was a little sloppy. In the end I'll beat the dead horse and cry for the lack of a 3rd round.
