he said he couldnt see and the ref asked if he wanted to continue, and he said yea, so he let them keep fighting.

Yeah, my point is the fight should have been stopped there. If a fighter says he can't see why would the ref let the fight continue? I can't say I've ever seen that before. Since when do they leave it up to the fghter to decide if he wants to continue at that point? I'm not sure that Herb handled that situation correctly. If he stopped the fight because of the blood in Dan's eyes shouldn't he have at least had the doctor look at it? If not, he shouldn't have stopped the fight to give Dan a break. Dan was clearly in trouble at that point in the fight and I was kind of annoyed that the ref would stop it and ask him if he wanted to continue. It seemed like it just gave him some time to recover. You could even hear Serra in the background asking what the hell was going on.

He gave him a chance to clear the blood out of his eyes so he could see...what the hell is wrong with that? Would you rather them stop a fight because someone cant see, or let them clear their eyes and continue fighting?

I'll tell you what's wrong with it. Ben may have been able to finish Dan right there, instead the fight was halted which gave Dan time to recover. If you want to stop the fight to have the Doctor look at a cut that's one thing. It's something else to stop a fight and ask a fighter if they want to continue. Regardless, Ben won the fight and would have won the fight anyway if it went to a third round.

What was he doing that would have finished the fight? He wasnt in a dominant position, and he got to rest just like dan did. So no, I don't think he could or would have finished the fight if they didnt take a 10second break or whatever to clear his eyes.

Dominant position? How about Ben kicking, punching and kneeing Dan in the head for the entire second round with Dan baisically running away? Quite frankly, I don't see how Ben could have been more dominant in that round.

Theres a difference between dominating, and being in a dominant position. Yes he was winning the round very easily, was he in a position to finish the fight besides a haymaker or kick that anyone is in a position to land..? No.

Best fight of the year by far. One of the best first round fights I've seen in TUF. I can see why Dana paid up. It sucks that two guys that were going toe to toe wern't allowed to finish. I think Dan was done and wouldn't have survived the 3rd, but why not let it go down?

Cool move by Dana IMHO

Dan won the first. Ben won the second (and yes, I am impressed with his kicks). There should have been a third, but Ben would've probably knocked out or dominated Dan. Dana gave Dan the money because there should've been a third round, evem though Dan's fate was inevitably doomed in he third.
