How can any of you defend dan?? He left a beautiful wife, his animals, his great job and almost threw it away for something he wasnt ready for. He said he was gonna give it his all and I dont think he did that. He might have looked like he was training hard cause he can lift weights and take a punch from matt but thats it. It doesnt seem like he was working on any part of his fighting just his strength training. I didnt see any control on his part and the one he landed on ben was probobly lucky. As much as I would love to try for the UFC thats the top ranked stuff. If you havnt fought before your not ready for anything UFC related. It shows way to much with blake then him. If they could train and listen to there coaches maybe it would be ok. But they cant seem to understand what they are there for. You should have like 5 amatuer fights and atleast a year of training before getting into that show. I didnt think ben had much of a chance but honestly he wasnt the best but atleast he knew how to fight, guard, throw punches and stay focused. He shouldve stayed home and keeped flipping tires and lifting huge rocks to stay fit. I only see him as a bodybuilder and not an MMA fighter.

I agree, I can't see how Dan could have gotten a shot in the UFC with little or NO experience. He was like 15-3 as an amateur boxer, but he has NO MMA fights that I can find any proof of. Hughes' blog says he's had one fight, but even if that's true, I don't see that as worthy of a shot in the UFC.

i think dan was overrated coming into this fight. i think he may be a decent fighter, but he wasnt what he was hyped up to be. i dont think he deserved the 5k.
regardless, i would have liked to see a third round.
dan will have a chance to redeem himself on the finale im sure.

That pretty much says where I'm coming from. I agree that Ben probably would have won on the ground, because Dan looked completely lost, but I don't think Ben is good. And I don't think he's good standing up.

This was a great fight because they were well matched fighters, but neither of them did anything that amazed me. That's all I was trying to say.
