Should Matt Hughes stay away from TUF...

after he is done with TUF 6? I'm only bringing this up because the TUF series didn't do any wonders for his image! I don't think anybody had a problem with Matt until he decided to do TUF 2. Then all of a sudden you have an influx of people who believe this man to be a serious egomanic. This was reinforced when he came off looking like a trouble maker and an instigator on TUF 4. Now as it stands this season of TUF isn't doing him any favors. Should this be the last time Matt Hughes does another appearance on TUF? Your thoughts?

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam

It's important for the UFC to have recognizable fighters. Ones that are hated are just as important as those who are loved. PPV buy rates are going to increase if people feel strongly about a fighter, so as long as they care - it doesn't matter to the UFC if viewers like or dislike a particular fighter.

Agree with rdwj, if Matt Hughes was on a card, I'd buy it so I could see him get beat.

Have you ever seen his website it doesn't help much, either. I would also say his laughing and giving a thumbs up to the camera when GSP lost didn't help either...I actually didn't mind him on TUF 2 but buy TUF 4 I somewhere shifted how stupid/egomanical he is, maybe the build up to Hughes/Gracie, finally TUF 4 cemented it. I don't think he cares as most ppl. like him either have no clue how they are percieved or he feels he has enough fans and his family that he really doesn't care.

For his own sake, I'd agree. But the UFC should try to get him back every season. The fighters, whether you love them or hate them, have to have a dramatic personality to make TUF interesting...and Hughes does it pretty well.

He comes off as sort of a whiner so far this season, threatening to quit on his team and all that.
Hughes has rubbed me the wrong way more than a few times, but I've always had a ton of respect for the resilience he shows in the Octagon. This "give me a reason why I should stay on this show stuff" doesn't exactly fit with that. It just makes him sound like a sore loser.
