Things I've learnt this season...
So, this TUF has pretty much reached its midpoint and we have essentially seen what we needed to see to get a real clue of what is actually going on in that house, and I've learned alot of things this season.
Ive learnt that all of these guys put on these "shows" before fights, and act the way they do because, well, they're amateurs. And I say "amateurs" not in a bad way, but that these guys don't know any better, they are young, they are naive and aren't hardened fighters like the UFC vets, they don't know any better. They come from doing small indie shows to being on national television apart of the biggest MMA org in the world, these guys' heads obviously aren't where everyone expects them to be. But thats ok, they have much to learn.
Iv also learnt that Dana White, on the show, is a great guy. Hes extremely supportive, gives the fighters more support than their coaches, and doesn't act like the arrogant ass that he is outside of the show. He is stoic, humble and very forgiving, and I like that.
There has been great controversy about this particular season as of late. Many have labeled it "crap", and "No where as good as previous seasons". Well, actually, Ive also come to see that in terms of fights, this season is freaken great. out of 7 fights only 1 has gone to dec, and even that ,was one of, if not the best match of the season. We've had great finishes, and great heart. The entertainment aspect of the show is also top notch. You have TONS of drama. Really folks, what more can you ask for!
So I go by saying this season is great, really great, and hopefully there are more exciting fights to come. But thats just my opinion, obviously you guys have yours.
PS: Do you think having all of your fighters in the next round a good thing, or a bad thing considering they will all face each other next?

"gives the fighters more support than their coaches"
Give me an example where he gave a fighter on Serra's team more support then Serra did.

Well to be honost they never really needed it, they havnt been in the same situations as Hughes' team. Where Matt completely blames the loss on the fighter and abandons them.
But hey, he gave a good talking to Scarola, and although in vane, it was a pretty decent showing by him.
Whats wrong with that?

I will agree with you that Dana is a good guy, and tries to help the fighters on the show as much as he can. But he definately doesnt give them more support then any coach with the exception of Matt Hughes this season.

I'm enjoying this season so far as well. Not quite as much drama in the house as in past seasons (so far). That i can live with. There has been a varity in the fights and some lack-luster performances...but that's MMA. While not my favorite season so far...still a solid hour I look forward to all week.

The drama is good for those who like the "reality tv" aspect of the show. I personally get tired of the drama, and I think it gets a little too milked out. I like to see the training, and getting to know the fighters. I'm not a big fan of peoples' issues, like Joey, for instance. Paul had some real stuff come up, but they didn't blow it out of proportion because he dealt with it like a man. Joey was a bitch for three episodes, and I couldn't handle it anymore. Barrera had a phone call from his crazy wife, and he dealt with it fairly well. I guess in a way, the drama is a good thing because I know that I will never have respect for Joey Scarotum.

I agree with most of what you say about Dana Plazzman. What other kind of organisation would have the guy of same stature give such support? He swears a lot, so what, he's just being himself. He does come out with some 'off the wall' stuff though which can be a great laugh:
"go give them the 'come to Jesus' meeting, man', wtf?!?
The whole drama side I could do without. OK give us a bit of what's going on in the house to let us know how the fighters are mentally before the fights but c'mon, don't over do it. They, more often than not, treat the training/fight side as more of an afterthought.
Regarding the novice attitude these guys have. This is supposed to be 'The SuperBowl of MMA' remember!? IMO these guys should already have established themselves as fighters. Instead we're getting guys with NO professional bouts?!

Oh man, I forgot about that. A 'come to Jesus' meeting? that was beautiful. I think Dana was dying to tell Hughes he's being a puss.

I agree on the young and not really knowing how else to act part. I think for the most part they are doing the best they know how to.
I am kind of 50/50 on Dana White.
Sometimes I want to think he really gives a crap and is showing some affection to the guys and really cares. Like letting that kid leave for the funeral and talking to guys who are having a hard time.
But then on the other hand I wonder if he is just putting on a show for the camera to sort of help his image.
