It's actually a good idea, I mean what if Mac and Speer both lost their next fights, the purpose of the show would end prematurely, at least this way Hughes team will make it to the next round either way.
That's okay though, I still think Mac is gonna carry Hughes team to the finals and win it all.

I agree. If Hughes was in Serra's position, I believe he would do the same and do his little chipmunk chuckle. It really is a good decision, strategy-wise. He further pisses off Hughes, while eliminating one of Hughes' last fighters. Serra has undoubtedly built strong relationships with his fighters and would like to see them all go far in their careers. So what if he's an asshole to his rival coach. He's far from an asshole to anyone else.

What better STRATEGY than to take the last two Hughes guys and make them eliminate each other?
Does anyone actually COMPETE anymore?
TUF is not about pastries and tea parties.
This is a competition, if it is within the rules then it is fair. Hughes should have picked better, coached better, and he would be the one doing the exact same thing.

IMO, if Serra did not try to do this he would be failing as a coach. You go for the win as best you can.
Also, the drama makes for good TV.
No matter what it's gonna be team Serra v team Serra in the finals.

Serra's guys are going to have to fight each other. That's the reward for being winners.
Seems only fair that the losers have to deal with the same fate.

I really don't see how this has caused so much controversy. Unless of course you're not very familiar with coaching and competing, or you are a Hughes fan who's just looking for a reason to hate Serra more.

To echo what other people are saying...
Yeah it's assholish of Serra to, but he should have every right to do it since he won 6-2. I have no doubt Hughes would be taking every advantage of the situation if he won.
Personally though, I can see Dana's POV. This is going to F everything up as far as training goes. If Hughes' 2 guys fight, that means that one of them will probably go train with Serra before the fight, and be cornered by Serra in the match. Then 3 of Serra's guys would train with Hughes and be cornered by Hughes in their matches. That's just messed up.

As if Hughes wouldn't have done the same... How come you're nut hugging Randy Couture, Rich Franklin and Matt Hughes; the "American Heroes" (no disrespect to them, they're awesome fighters)? I start to sorta see a pattern in amongst your favourites...
I think Hughes bible outhanding was way more asshole-ish.
