I like this season. More stoppages this time than in any other season from memory.

The only thing worse than seeing two guys with no talent fight is watching them do it to a decision. At least this season we're seeing some beatdowns.

Demian Maia may be the Fred Astaire of jiu-jitsu, but it’s too bad Silva is the Gene Kelly of kicking everyone’s ass.

1) Coaches that do NOT hate each other!

2) More established fighters, or even young fighters, that are just hungrier.

OK is this for hardcore fans? Or for the purpose of the show. If the latter...
  • Coaches that hate other = entertainment. But, there should be a effort to find 2 coaches that hate/dislike each other that actually want to teach the fighters. This is a onetime opportunity for many of them and they deserve better.
  • I agree, even as a showcase/selling show their should be more emphasis on finding more established or skilled fighters. I really can't see any reason why they shouldn't.
  • I agree that phone calls should be something the fighters should be able to do. It won't take away from their cherished drama. Anyone who has watched, "The Real World" will tell you it adds to the drama.
  • Showing more coaching, training, diet etc. though interesting to us, creates a "grab for the remote" response from the people they wish to convert. Though it wouldn't hurt to integrate short series of what this hold is and called and general rules of the ufc, weight classes and what that means and a over-view of who is in the weight class they are in. Like a little vignette of maybe the top 3 fighters in the weight class they are competing in. That way the viewer will be able to see the skill of the top fighters of that weight class and become familiar with their names.
  • Do not revert to the "challenges" or the "hammer". The first because it made the show look like Mickey Mouse...the latter because it creates more interesting fights. And, well this season is kind'a proof of that.
Just my 2 cents.

1. George St. Pierre
2. Anderson Silva
3. Fedor Emelianenko
4. Don Frye
5. Kenny Florian

Show more of the training. Bring back challenges. Yes that's right bring them back. I loved them. Have an attractive women be a host like in season 1 with willa ford.

better talent

a lil less drama...i mean its good for ratings....but how long to we have to listen to serras boy bitch about his girl come on now guys

The most solid advice I can give to anyone who fights BJ Penn not motivate the guy. Lets face it, BJ although talented, is naturally lazy. Your job is to NOT convince him to step on that treadmill.

i am still enjoying the series, but i think it would be nice if they would quit focusing on the drama and show more of the training and stuff like that.

I think they need to show more training and techniques, not just short clips of guys hitting a bag or rolling.
I agree. At first I didn't understand why they were having them do those challenges. But now that they're gone, the show is boring up until the actual fight. It's almost as if they take an environment with little drama and try and squeeze drama out of it. It's like trying to squeeze water from a doesn't work.

They also need to stop focusing the show around the drama between the coaches and make it more about the fighters.

1. Challenges- I'm all for that. And let the winner of the challenge make the matches. That way fighters would be the matchmakers.

a. Hate somebody- get them in the ring.
b. Too scared to fight- entertain us and prove it by getting 2 strong fighters to fight.
c. Then the guy who didn't get his wake up call can say "You didn't wake me- now you have too fight me.."
d. Be smart pick an easy challenge early.

It would add a little drama.

2. And when 2 fighters get in their little macho competitions between matches- throw them into a one on one challenge to resolve it. Athletic though not ping pong or single digit math problems.

3. When 2 fighters are picked - do a little promo that series-i.e. training clips/montages like a little highlight reel of what they have done in the house (stand-out effort in training for example) or even amateur footage of some of their past bouts. Add some good music.

4. play the UFC pre-fight galdiator music when announcing the matches, give the fighters entrance music.

5. I do like the lack of announcers here though.
