Tommy is definitely not the one who drops out!!
"Tommy’s training with us right now because he fights at the finale, like every other fighter from the show (except for two as I mentioned last week)." - Matt Hughes
Here is the link to his blog
And with Mac talking about training for an upcoming fight I don't think it is him either...that leaves Arroyo or George who walk out...and considering Mac already beat John, I am saying George walks out!

ya, I am 100% thinking its george now.. unreal
Matt was training with Serra when serra got hurt, so I am assuming hes in the finale too.
This is going to suck when mac beats matt, and everyone is like OH LOOKS LIKE SERRA ISNT A GOOD COACH AFTERALL BLAH BLAH BLAH... I can see the dozens of threads now.
Interesting, I couldn't find where Hughes said the line you quoted? is it possible they removed it already?

Yeah, I am seeing crap about Serra already for not planning to attend the finale. The guy is seriously injured and hoping to fight in "a few" months. If he doesn't take the time to rehab now, it's going to be forever before he defends his title. He coached the hell out of those guys. They'll retain the knowledge and skill he has given them because he is that good of a coach.
Anyway, I'll clear it up now:
Semis: Tommy wins decision over George. Mac walks out, John subs in, Matt KOs John.
Finale: Matt wins decision over Tommy. Meanwhile, Mac wipes the sweat from his brow {whew} and secures another few fights in the KOTC.
Maybe it will come true if I'm more cocky about it.

I am starting to think the most likely scenario is someone on the show goes home that already lost, and dana white is talking to them about their finale fight, which he declines.
and all this John replacing him shit, is probably referring to the finale fight.. not the actual semifinals..
thats my pick.. anyone want to sig bet?

just because he is fighting at the finale it doesn't mean that it isn't him that dropped out...

I think its MAC unfortunately. In the preview for next episode you see him being in some sort of pain holding his stomach or ribs...

"Mac Danzig resumes full time training in Los Angeles to prepare for the season finale Ultimate Fight Night on Dec 8" - http://www.macdanzig.net/
It is obvious Mac is not the one walking away. Arroyo is training with Serra for the finale so it isn't him either. It's gotta be George.

When Mac wins it won't prove that Serra is or isn't a good coach. The only way to determine that is either by training with him or looking at the overall wins/losses of his students outside of TUF.
The guys on the show only train with Serra or Hughes respectively for a month or so. Also, they don't train specifically for a fight against a particular opponent until a day or so before the fight.
Just as the wins/losses of the guys from Hughes team don't attest to Hughes quality as a coach, the wins/losses of Serra's guys don't either.
Even if it did, the setup of TUF wouldn't show who is a better MMA coach, but who is a better MMA coach when given little time and information with which to train your fighters. Who's to say that Hughes' guys wouldn't do a lot better given the time to learn Hughes' training methods beyond a few weeks, as well as training with gameplans set forth by Hughes.
I think this show proves very little as to the coaching strengths of the coaches and more to the particular skill sets of the fighters upon entering the house.
Mac is the top guy. He has the most experience including being the lightweight champion of KOTC. He is beating his opponents fairly easily. Does that mean that Hughes is a great coach for Danzig? Not necessarily. It means that he has far more experience than every other fighter in the house and is using that as he should to defeat them.
