I honestly didn't know what to think of this situation. It was obvious that he didn't want to find and looked scared. But when he was talking to Serra after the doctor checked him out, he said.."It's a lot worse than I thought." but never said what was wrong. I thought that kinda sounded fishy. But who knows maybe he did say what was wrong and I missed it.

he just wanted no part of Mac, you could see it in his eyes everytime he talked about the fight.

First off how the hell do you know he wanted no part of mac, your not arroya and you don't know, you're just speculating. Show me a video of him saying "I wanted no part of Mac, so I pussied out."

doctor found nothing wrong. I don't blame him though. Mac's the best fighter on the show.

Unfortunately, just days before the fight, Arroyo suffered an injury during a sparring session with teammate Richie Hightower. He tried to fight and train through the injury — we saw that on Wednesday’s episode — but the pain became too much. At the urging of assistant coach Ray Longo, Arroyo finally decided to get it checked out.
The verdict? A cracked rib with deep bruising.
However, the UFC’s usual Las Vegas doctor — the one who understands that his patients are fighters and in the fight of their lives — was out of town, and the replacement doc gave Arroyo little instruction. He wasn’t told he could fight. He wasn’t told he couldn’t fight. Hell, he wasn’t told anything other than to take it easy. The decision whether to continue on with the competition would have to be his own.

Part of an article on MMAJunkie. Remember, for these fighters, their health is essential to their lifestyle. If they suffer a major injury, that could be the end of their career.

All of Arroyo's teammates who had the opportunity to take his place but didn't really want it punked out more IMO.

Man I don't know what to say about Arroyo. I had faith in him from the beginning, and then he pulls this crap. I don't want to say he's not really injured, but the way he acted made me think he was full of crap. He shouldn't have gone to the doctor, imo. If he really wanted to stay and fight, he should have kept it quiet and, like another poster said, hope for the best and try to end it early. I honestly think Arroyo would have been capable of beating Danzig, but he wasn't right in the mind for the fight. Even if he lost to Danzig by a TKO due to a punch in the ribs, he wouldn't have looked bad because everybody would have known he was hurt. At least he'd have had the nuts to step in there with the best on the show. I was honestly disappointed by his decision, but who the hell am I to say he wasn't really hurt bad. I can't say I would have stepped in there either because I wasn't there. Weight division-wise that would be like me stepping in injured to fight Forrest Griffin. Don't know what I'd do about that. I'm just disappointed. I hope he comes back and redeems himself.
I think he should have been matched against Roman Mitchyan. The guy who was 'no pooosey' against the guy who stepped out due to injury. I bet the pre-fight interviews would have been funny. "He's a poosey, he can no fight me. He a comedian if he think he can fight me... I'm no poosey."

I don't think this is true, If Dana knew he lied, why would he put him on the Finale card?

Arroyo just looks soft to me so not so suprising really, I'd be suprised to see him make it. But good luck to him anyway.
