I wonder how they will set the matchups. I think it would be kind of cool to randomly draw to see who fights who. One of the problems with TUF imo has been having certain fighters getting an easy road to the finals. In past seasons it seems like the best fighter on one team was always fighting the worst fighter on the other team.

I'm down for more fights. I agree, they did focus to much on the crap that went down on the house then the actual training/fights.

I was going to skip this season, due to getting tired of all the talk, and rarely getting to see any action. Although with this new approach, I'm actually stoked to see it now.

Barring any major injury to the winners of the fights, that's a great idea.
It would suck though if one of the winners gets a major cut and isn't allowed to continue... Or a fractured arm like Guillard had from that kick.

Dare I say "best season yet" ?
It looks like it might be. Filtering out all the crappy fighters at the beginning is gonna make a huge difference.
I know TUF is supposed to be a way to get your big break, but some of the guys on the show in the past have been amateurs. That sucks.

Now a question I have is how are they going to be matched up. Since it would kind of suck if two of the best guys fight each other right away and one gets kicked out and two crappy fighters fight and one gets to stay.

The weakness of any single elimination system...
It would be smart to prevent that by having both coaches eval everyone first and then make macthups based off that. It will not be perfect, because some fighters are different in training than in competition, but better than nothing.

Hate to burst everyone's bubble, but this isn't going to get rid of all the "crappy" fighters. 32 go in, 16 leave. You get the same result by picking 16 good fighters in the first place. But anyway, that being said I am really looking forward to this season, Rampage and Forrest will be hilarious coaches and the MW division needs contenders. Also, we get to see twice the amount of fights compared to other seasons...SWEET!

So this is set to start airing on April 2nd. How long does a season of TUF usually take? ie what date will Rampage and Forrest fight approximately? Assuming neither gets injured. -_-
