i doubt that this will be filtering out the crap fighters from the good fighters. with 32 fighters i bet at least 24 of them are inexperienced, going from the last few tuf's there will only be around 3-4 experienced fighters. this will just be a case of crappy fighters beating crapper fighters.

i hope most of them are stand and brawls. this gives the judges a good idea of who the good picks are and not just choosing them on size and record alone.

Exactly I mean what happens if you get a TUF 2 situation in which Two of probably the 3 most talented fighters at a weight class (Melvin and Burkman) fight each other right away. I mean taht was even worse since Burkman got his arm broken but Why lose top guys right away and get stuck with scrubs.

I for one am really looking forward to this season. I totally agree that TUF 6 focused way too much on the drama than the actual talent. Selecting 16 fights right off the bat is AWESOME.

And this way there will be somewhat of a filtration system as to how many "weaker" fighters we have to see.

I agree. I never liked single elimination, a double elimination can prevent some of that, and then you still have the same number of fights as if 32 fighters started, too bad their house is only large enough for 16- get a second house?.

On the bright side maybe at least the guys that go into the first fight without any heart, the ones that end up running- making, pre-fight excuses, harp on their injuries before a match might be eliminated- or if 2 of them face each other at least there will be a little ego boost.
