An unofficial source tells Cage Potato that the coaches have been signed for the next season of The Ultimate Fighter, and they are none other than UFC heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and former champ Frank Mir.

Of course, this means that Mir will be getting the next shot at the heavyweight strap, and that the title will be out of circulation for a looooong time while they film, edit, and air the show.

This latest revelation might also shed some light on why the UFC has been purging its heavyweight roster. With this development off in the distance, they have less need for guys like Tim Sylvia and Jake O’Brien hanging around the water cooler down at the Zuffa headquarters.

While we’re a little disappointed that we won’t get to see Sylvia coach his own TUF team and try desperately to get them to like him, at least this might help introduce Big Nog to some of the newer fans of the sport. Next thing you know all the kids will be going crazy for the butterfly guard. Don’t think it can’t happen.

I actually think Mir would be a very good coach and I can't wait for him to scream "Darce!!!!!!!!" from the corner.

Mir doesn't deserve a title shot. He was getting his face pounded on until Lesnar made a rookie mistake.

I like the idea of Mir and Nog on the next season. I think that Mir will be an excellent coach, he's very articulate and seems to have the demeanor that makes a good coach.

Nog may have a bit of an issue with the language barrier but his skills speak for themself and he would get a great amount respect. Also I'm sure that both of these gentleman would bring top notch assistant coaches along with them.

You know what that means. Silva to make an appearance! I can see it now, Silva walking into the gym and teaching some of these up-and-comers how to Muay Thai clinch.

If you look at the poster by the TUF Octagon in one of the new epispdes, you see a picture of Forrest, Rampage, as well as GSP and A. Silva. It could be coincidence, or TUF 8 will have GSP anf Silva as coaches and a match at the end to prove who is P4P king?
