Forrest himself has always come to fight, but the same couldn't be said for his guys if they were to follow some of his advice. Two major things that gave me a bad feeling:

1. He told Creadur, who is great at Jitz, not to do the armbar against Riddle, whose jitz might not be the best ever...

2. He basically told Dante to just stay on top and don't do anything since he should be aiming for the decision.

I know Forrest just wants his guys to win, that's understandable, but common here! Help fights being finished as well, man!

He just knows that this is a huge opportunity for these guys, the guys were wining the fight and he did not want them to do anything that could jeporidise them messing it up, I actually agreed with him saying those things. sometimes it is better to play it safe and just win the fight, there is allot more on the line in these fights then in a usual mma fight and forrest knows that.

For these prelim matches, I think going with the decision is not a bad idea for these fighters. They need the money and they need the win. However, once it gets to the finals and the finale, they need to become more exciting and go for more risks in order to be signed a contract with the UFC. I think that's how I would approach things if I was a TUF fighter.

Although, that's not to say that if I see an opening to finish the fight in the prelims, I'll still definitely finish.

Yeah I see why he does it, and it might be a good decision, but as a fan I get a tad frustrated/dissapointed in Forrest, since he himself fights very exitingly.

Can't be doing too much wrong on the coaching side 3-0. but can see why his advice would be annoying from spectator point of view. But in terms of risk vs reward going conservative for the definite win vs possibly losing position and the decision for a finish. At this stage the guys main focus has got to be staying in the competition. Not as exciting but def the smart way to play it imo.

I think Forrest is doing a good job coaching, but I don't like that he encourages his guys to basically lay'n'gay to victories.

I have a problem with Rampage, as he is far too quiet and doesn't offer very clear instructions to his guys during the fight. You can hear Forrest, constantly shouting instructions, but it seems like Rampage doesn't know what to say.

I was thinking the same thing, and I like Forrest a lot but telling his guys to basically go for the decision didn't impress me. He even admitted the other guy did more damage on Dante, but was pleased with Dante getting the take downs and only controlling the guy without trying to finish him.

I agree with you about rampage. The only thing I ever hear him say is "Get up!" Even if his guy on his back with his opponent in full guard. I mean, it's not exactly that easy to just get up from your back without a bit more instruction.

Agreed. I was frustrated that Forrest was encouraging a non entertaining fight. What if some people who don't know much about mma decided to watch that and now thinks mma ia boring as hell cuz all this guy does it lay and pray.

Also Rampage could be much more specific with his instructions. Instead of saying stuff like "reach over his shoulder with your right arm" he is saying stuff like "get up". lol
