Another house wrecked
I just had a look over on the UFC website & there's a trailer of next weeks episode where they completely demolish the house.
What is it with wrecking these houses? Is it because they are nice & since they are leaving to go back to a normal place, they have to wreck the plush pad? Is it really the tension??
I really don't understand why it always has to come down to people putting things through walls etc. I understand people doing things like that in a state of rage but not just for fun. I confess I did get up to some mindless vandalism when I was 10-14 but that IMO was childish immaturity, not appreciating value in anything. This is grown adults we're talking about here ffs, who are on a reality show as ambassadors for the sport. This is just making the sport look like the sheer thuggery a lot of people think it is.

The only thing I can think of is they all probably have cabin fever. All the cast members talk about how boring it is inside the house. They only get one real outing per season, and other than that its either training, or cooped up in the house.

That really has to be it. They're in the house for about 2-3 months.

It's more of a tradition now. No one wants to be the cast that didn't trash the place.

very true.
also isn't it the same house every season?? they seriously just rebuild it with easily breakable material i think. Kinda surprised they don't even get some consoles to play or something.........

I always get the feeling that they are encouraged by the film crew to trash the house. I guess they just want something to show the audience. They should have board games. You can't play those without getting in a fight with somebody.

I understand that they're bored out of their minds and Spike knows it makes for good TV, but it comes off as lame and played out, by now I'm like "yawn" oh did he put a hole in a wall, rip a fixture halfway off...whatever. I posted in another thread, have two houses, the awesome one for the guys who don't seem like they'll trash the place and a more modest (or durable) one for the guys who have been breaking stuff since they were old enough to walk. (Or throw).

They should be allowed something in there if that's what they end up doing. Really though, there are people that go to sea, live in the desert, basically living in a similar boring environment at work & don't end up trashing the place. If they really do encourage them then it's doing the sport harm IMO. Not a wise thing to do, especially while still trying to get certain commissions to take it on-board. Either way, it must just be me that gets pissed off when I see them trashing great looking places just for a laugh.

The only diff. I can think of between the boredom levels of these guys and ppl at sea, etc. is that I don't think they're allowed books in the house, which is utter bullshit. But you're absolutely right.

I thought I'd seen them reading books in previous series. Maybe not. Thanks for the agreement none the less.
