He's had to go up against some tough competition too. I remember thinking when him and Matt Brown got paired together, that could be the 2 best fighters. He is very calm and resillient.

Hey, first post. Sweet.

Anyway, I believe Amir has all the potential in the world. And he'd be a great ambassador for the sport because he's hilarious and has that approachable "gee, shucks" attitude. And to the OP, yes, his run HAS to be the most impressive in TUF history.

Conversley, do you think any MMA critics will use this to their advantage? A guy with virtually no experience suddenly wins a tourney and gets put into the biggest promotion in the sport?! Imagine something happening like that in the NFL/NBA?

Amir's run is more impressive than anyone else's simply because of his underdog status.

Yeah, Mac dominated every fight he was in(i'm a huge Mac fan so don't get me wrong) but he was supposed to.

Amir was supposed to lose. Amir is more impressive because he pulled a Rocky Balboa...4 times!

They may, but I don't think it would hold any real water. A similar thing HAS happened in the NFL. Vince Papale played for the Eagles after not having played college football.

And, it's not like Amir is just some Joe Schmoe off the street. He obviously has tons of experience. Just none of it is pro experience. Sparring in the gym, you can learn to keep your wits about you on your back with allowing full slaps (it won't do lasting damage, but still hurts, and distracts like Hell) when ground fighting, and it looks like he's done a ton of that.

based on his proven talent thusfar, his charisma, and his looks (not that he's super good looking, but he holds it down) he's gonna snag a nice contract. and it's safe to say that he will have a dedicated fanbase. myself included.

Let's just hope the finale doesn't turn into a snooze fest where CB just lays on top of Amir and does nothing of signifigance except maybe throw a couple rabbit punches at the end of the round to try and steel it.

Clearly CB doesn't have the standup. I just hope that when Amir hits him the first couple times early in a round, when he knocks him back and staggers him, I hope he doesn't rush in on him and take him down. Make him get back up and keep fighting. But don't intentionaly go to the ground with this guy. Because he can lay on top of of a person, put his head in their chest, do nothing and stay there for 4 minutes as good as anyone. I'm not sure that's actually Martial Arts, but for some reason you can win UFC fights that way.

CB has horrible conditioning. If he doesn't work on that in preparation for the fight, he will lose for sure. Amir has heart and skills to match. He is going to be a great fighter that the fans are going to friggin' love to see fight. Dana struck gold with another fighter here.
