I'm with the wacky thread starter on this one. Sera sucks. Too small, too weak, boring to watch, and he does yap like a chiwawa a bit much. If this guy becomes champ then the UFC is really going to be in trouble. Hard worker yes, talented, entertaining fighter, nope. He'll out work you but he won't hurt you.

I respect the guy. He really stepped up for his side on TUF. Was a great corner man for all his guys. And was a big reason his team dominated.

He should become a trainer or a politician then. I guess the guy has heart, but you'll see what I mean if he every faces matt hughes, GSP or Bj. Or anybody from Pride.

Serra moving down to the lightweight division was the best career move he made.

Alex, you talk SO bad about the guy, it makes me seem like you think you're a better person than he is, all-round. It seems like you want to be in the spotlight, on television, where YOU can make your funny jokes and make all the comments you want, just like Serra has the freedom to do. I think someone is upset because he's not on TV.

Stop watching if you don't like, buddy.

I love the intense emotional responses from people...
I personally would not judge any of them by their appearence on TV, they are probably all haming it up for the cameras. Matt Serra seemed to like the cameras, and there is nothing wrong with that, this show is to jumpstart their careers whether they win or not. I could understand Serra's stance on Laimon's attitude, as Serra's hero was being verbally attacked. They are all human, they have bad days...

And Serra not going off on Hughes or Franklin like that probably has something to do with the fact he has not been exposed to it the way he has been to Laimon in the past; the two have a history together. And please lets leave the "come out from behind your keyboard and say it" arguement at home, its just childish.

Here's how I see it:

Laimon = wimpy big mouth

Serra = inarticulate Brooklyn blackbelt

If you guys think that Serra is a joke, you obviously missed the entire episode that Dana White spent spewing his credentials. Serra is, in my opinion, the fourth most successful american grappler, behind Lloyd Irvin, Jeff Monson and BJ Penn (who's order is interchangeable). The guy has a list of BJJ credentials longer than he is (not saying much, but still).

I would love to see Serra v Laimon in the octagon, maybe it should be the opener for that Tito v Dana White boxing match. It would be a one sided ass whupping, and Laimon knows it.

Gee Matt, why didnt you tell Rich Franklin or Matt Hughes what you thought of them while they were there, in their face? Hm?
This thread's a bit old but I read the first post and thought a little about why Serra didn't confront the other 2.

He didn't go and tell Rich what he thought of his advice because he didn't want to hurt the guys feelings, he just though the advice was a little goofy(so did many others). It was infact the middleweights who were talking down on Rich Franklin.

And as for the things he said about Matt Hughes, nothing Hughes said or did affected Serra. The things he said were more observatory than anything else.
