New Article: A Look at TUF (Fighters, Dark Horses and Dead Fish)
Alright, so I took a look at this season and this is what I came up with.
The full article (with explanations) is posted at MMAOpinion.
Lightheavyweight Favorites: Krzysztof Soszynski (Team Mir) and Ryan Bader (Team Nogueira)
Lightweight Favorites: Efrain Escudero (Team Nogueira) and Junie Browning (Team Mir)
Lightheavyweight Dark Horses: Eliot Marshall (Team Mir) and Shane Primm (Team Nogueira)
Lightweight Darkhorses: Dave Kaplan (Team Mir) and Phillipe Nover (Team Noguiera)
Lightheavyweight Dead Fish: Tom Lawlor (Team Mir) and Jules Bruchez (Team Nogueira)
Lightweight Dead Fish: George Roop (Team Mir) and Roland Delgado (Team Nogueira)
Any thoughts?

I agree with your opinion on the LHW division, initially I thought Philippe was the best fighter in LW division

Really? Originally, I had Phillipe sort of at the bottom of my list (probably just ahead of Roli and Roop). Now, I happen to agree that he's one of the tougher guys in the house, and perhaps even better than Junie (especially on the feet, since I don't think that Junie's standup is very good).
I figured Efrain to be the big favorite, and I think that he still is, though I agree that Phillipe may be moving up the rankings a little bit (he may even be #2 in my mind if Junie gets kicked off).

This is all spot on for me.
I really like how you think.
Although I might place Philippe 2nd right away, I think that lightweight will be a real war between Nover Efrain and Junie.
Nice post !

Glad you liked it.
I wanted to have one guy from each team, so I had to put a lightweight from Team Mir. Still, I could see two Team Nog fighters in the finals, and that would be Nover and Efrain, especially if Junie gets kicked off.

I think that is a great list.
Bader is defiantly the favorite in my book.
However I think at LHW the darkhorse is Vinnie. The guys BJJ is so good he's the only person I think who can beat Bader.
LW I think you made a great list. Efrain is a very talented LW and so is Junie.
However I think Phillipe Nover will win it. He did a great job against Joe Duarte who is a real talented guy.

I don't see how Junie looks to have more talent than any of the LW's left in the house judging from one fight. For all we know Shane Nelson may be better than him.

Well the guy has some fights before TUF, I'm assuming the people praising his skills have seen those. Also he dominated his fight in TUF. But lets not forget he fought an enormous puss who verbally tapped in between rounds!
damn, almost forgot! im napoleon dog, hitler dog, straight up criminal dog! at least im still pretty dog!

He's had two professional fights and both opponents have a combined record of 2-2...that's including both. Aside from the extra camera time Junie gets, there's no reason why he should be the favorite after only seeing one fight.
Like I said, for all we know guys like Shane Nelson or even George Roop could be better than him. Hell Shane Nelson has a 9-3 record and George Roop is 8-3.

I agree with you point BUT, at this level most of the time records don't mean anything.. Alot of guys tend to build up on easy opponents..
