That was brought up before, and perhaps some are right that the episodes are not shown in true chronogical order. I would guess that the fights are in order, but that some footage is out of order chronologically to make for better TV.

That is exactly how I saw it too.

Nog showed respect for Vinny; perhaps they talked earlier, perhaps Nog wanted to train with him afterwords. I am not sure.

What I do know is that Nog clearly felt disrespected when he heard that one of his own countrymen was smack-talking behind his back, especially someone who he respected.

Imagine you wanted to play in the NHL. You happen to be the best skater in the world. You can skate faster than your coach, but are ammature in terms of puck handling, passing, shooting, positioning, and general knowledge.

Would you diss your coach behind his back because you happen to excell at skating?

Now I realize Nog wasn't Vinny's coach, but there was potential in the future, and Vinny has possibly slammed a door shut on possible future training with Big Nog.

A thing many of us are missing: we saw this second hand on a heavily edited TV show. Nog was there in real life. I say he knew more how to react than Vinny, and considering he's like the nicest guy usually it seems rather inprobable that he suddenly just goes bananas and goes berserk on a guy he hardly knows.

So I'm gonna trust Nog on this one and say he was not overreacting.

Vinny blogged about it and Nog confronted vinny during the semifinals.

You're probably right.

And if this is true, it's pretty crappy because all it does is mislead the audience. It won't do anything but cause false biases to be created against Nog or Vinny, when we are all probably talking out of our asses right now not truly knowing what went down and when.

I am definitely with ColdCall on this. You guys seem to not realize that there are better wrestlers then GSP out there. That there are better strikers then Anderson out there, and that there are better Jujitsu guys then Nog or Mir out there. Now in the Octagon its different story. GSP could outwrestle so many people with better credentials then him in the octagon but i would bet my left nut that he wouldnt be able to do that in a pure Wrestling match. Same goes for Vinny, the guy is awesome at Jujitsu when it comes to competitions and when it comes to in training, but in the Octagon Nog definitely has the advantage. If Nog decided to challenge vinny at a Jujitsu match right there then i would be more then happy to put all my points on Vinny and not only that id put another 100$ of my real money on vinny.

Very good interview and I agree with Vinny 100% after reading this.

Everything he says makes perfect sense honestly. Because like I said earlier in this thread basic isn't bad at all.

In pure BJJ Vinny is a much better grappler then Nogueira.

In fact if they had a grappling match tomorrow I would put money on Vinny.

I never said Vinny wasn't a better pure grappler, I'm telling you he's probably not as good in MMA with BJJ, obviously not considering he's 2-2, with one of his losses being a submission. If he fought Nog on the ground in MMA, it would be like Traven/Mir. Traven is a high level pure grappler, but he was submitted by a guy like Frank Mir who translated BJJ better to fighting in a cage.

Perfect analogy But Nogs been in there with fedor twice and crocop and he took down Silvia and submitted him> Monson couldnt even come close to submitting Silvia and he was abu dahbi champ i think Nogs jits is as good as it gets for a heavyweight in mma.]Better than Mirs is anymore.
