Why does TUF 4 stink?

I cant figure it out. When I heard the premise I thought it was going to be great...skilled pro fighters given one last shot at their dream and the title. Who the hell could have guessed that the fights would be tepid, boring, snooze-fests? I assumed these guys would be going to war and giving everything they've got...instead it looks like a bunch of washed up has beens and never was's just trying their best not to look bad.

Why do you think it's so lame this season?

1)It is "the comeback" you gotta expect a few to be has beens
2)I think the lack of coaches hurts it, a face you knew made things more interesting.
3)I've got no explaination for the fights sucking...but i agree they do

I think it is lack of coaching. These guys are used to training with people helping every step of the way, now they have to use eachother, whom most are unfamiliar with, to get to the top. Age is also a factor, some are just too old.

I can't tell you why it blows it just does. Shonie is the star though. Guy is classic, doesn't want to reclimb mountains or whatever he was talking about haha. That gorgeous hat of his keeps getting more and more gawdy each week. His ghetto raft, priceless. I bet he can't even swim. The guys a superstar and i was hoping for him to knock Serra out and he almost did, i couldn't believe it. I saw him in Reno i think it was 2004, he headlined a small show and I saw his ass outside walking in and me and my friends laughed at him and my buddy said, "What's up Hammer?" like MC Hammer and he just stared and kept walking. Then we see him get in the ring and we were like oh sh*t, maybe shouldn't said that. But either way the guy is walking masterpiece and its too bad he won't be on every TUF season. He should come back and just paint stuff each season. Shonie Carter, your a GOD.

I have seen all those guys fight before, I like seeing new talent come into the show hungry to get to the top. The previous shows have produced several great final fights and fighters.

I agree, I like seeing new talent too...they may not be as skilled but they seem far more hungry and fight with way more heart.

It also bothers me a little that Dana White constantly has fighters from the series who didn't win...didn't even make it to the finals. It just shows that the UFC is less concerned with the caliber of the fighters than it is with drawing a crowd to watch "personalities". It gives some legitimacy to the people who believe that the title holders in the UFC are paper champions who's reigns have been prolonged by giving them fights with obvious lesser opponents or fighters who are way passed their prime. I dont believe for a second that the top fighters in the UFC could compete on the world stage.

Spike has tried to play it off as if the fighters have nothing to lose. That's not true. The amateurs and semi-pro fighters from previous seasons had nothing to lose. A loss for them wasn't meaningful because their careers are just starting. Tito lost to Guy Mezger and Frank Shamrock before going on a great run with the (disputed) MW title.

The thing with these veteran fighters is that if they lose it could be over for them. Most of them are on the show because they've lost their last two or three fights. If they lose again what incentive does UFC have to keep them around? That's why most of the preliminary fights were hesitant. Wanting to win and not wanting to lose are two different mindsets.

I guess the harder question is how dry is the talent pool going to get if Dana wants to run two or three of these shows a year? They are going to run out of guys like Sanchez and Bisping.

Hardly any of them are showing heart or a desire/drive to win. In all of the matches it has been boring! Edwin Dewees was the only one to show heart and survive through all of the bleeding because of that cut. Hopefully on this weeks show or in the finals the heart and desire to win comes out and we see some good fights.

yeah last night, lutter VS sell was horrible.

you could tell lutter was gassing after round 1 of being on top!!!!

What the heck? I just dont feel the try hard enough therefore i dont feel they belong there!
