There was no "...." in the interview. He said "Fingers crossed I'd beat them". And then he followed up with an "If I did", as opposed to a "when". There was nothing wrong with what he said. Do you want him to come out and say "I suck and I could never beat anyone of value"?

I mean Franklin has a fan base and Henderson was a Olympic wrestler. If you are going to go USA vs UK go all out don't half ass it with a popular UK fighter and then have an American fighter who has no fans outside of hardcores.
the flip side of that is that you will create a star in marquart after the show...especially if he gives us some personality

and as far as Americans not knowing marquart....they won't care...it's us vs. them, good vs. evil, ...americans will tune in to cheer on americans

This is another reason I'd prefer them not to do it...the amount of jackass fans this is going to bring in just because they want to see the U.S. (or U.K.) win. I imagine the booing at the finale (if it works the way they are probably planning on it) will be on a whole other level.

I hope your right but IDK if that's true.

Now if Marquardt becomes a star then this is a good idea but I'm not so sure people will tune in to see just anyone coach. I believe TUF 5 got horrible ratings and a lot of that had to do with Jens Pulver who no casual fan knew being one of the coach.

What does fingers crossed mean?

It literally means, hopefully
