Nate Marquardt possibility for Coach on TUF 9

Nathan Marquardt could be the man that opposes Mike Bisping when the Brit captains the UK team in series 9 of The Ultimate Fighter.

UFC president Dana White said prior to UFC 89 that the US coach would likely be Dan Henderson or Rich Franklin.

But in an interview with Fighters Only Magazine yesterday, Bisping said Nate Marquardt may also be in the picture.

“Well, I’ve heard a rumour that it could be Nate Marquardt instead. To be honest, I’d be honoured to fight any of them,” the British middleweight said.

“Franklin or Henderson, either one of them would be great. Fingers crossed I’d beat them, and if I did, that’d shut a lot of people up.”

Bisping’s most recent fight was a unanimous decision win over Chris Leben at UFC 89 in Birmingham, England last month.

The Brit used superior boxing and footwork to get the win – but some internet message boards criticised his elusive style.

“I just laugh it off. If you took everything seriously, you’d slash your bloody wrists,” Bisping laughed.

“I was happy with it, the gameplan was to step off and move, that was everything we worked,” said Bisping.

For more exclusive comment from Mike Bisping, don’t miss next month’s issue of Fighters Only.

I think Bisping has his work cut out for him, whichever of these 3 ends up being his opponent.

Fedor vs. Andrei Arlovski - DEMOLISHED

Personally, I'd rather see Franklin be the coach for the next season. I still can't believe they are going through with this U.S. vs U.K. nonsense.

are they trying to screw him out of a title shot?

beating either Frankin or Hendo guarentees him a title shot. Nate Marquardt not so much.

why is it nonsense? there is a lot of money to be made in the UK and we have some talented fighters especially in the lower weight classes.

It has nothing to do with the UK, it's the fact there is tons of talent out of these countries. I don't think it's fair to not give everyone a chance because they don't live in a certain place.

The two problems I see with Henderson or Franklin is if Dan wins he whould get a rematch with Silva instead of being on hold then fighting Bisping, on the other hand I think Franklin beats Bisping and then what? Nobody including Rich wants to see Franklin/Silva 3

I like the Marquardt idea, unfortunatly he isnt very marketable.

Yeah, I really don't like the idea of USA vs UK.

I hope Nate doesn't take this and instead opts to fight soon.

How often do they do this??? I mean it will be season 9 all the other seasons were American fighters with the exception of Ross Pointon and Mike Bisbing....

So its not like the tons of talent from the U.S hasnt been picked from for the last 8 seasons now....

As far as everyone getting a chance Cornbread....you know that happens every year.....why do you think some of these guys like Danny Abbadi, Andy Wang, Wayne Weems got there for gods sake??? Dana put them in there to make the guys he picks that he likes shine.......so my point is every year people get screwed depending on what he how he wants the show to come accross......

Remember how Dana supposedly sent Jon Fitch home to let Diego Sanchez on the show...that was ****ed up......

LOL! Okay, that's a great point, this show is biased towards U.S. fighters (probably because they can complain in English), but ummm...I don't have a counter point. I would, however, much rather seen more countries being represented in this TUF like Brazil and Canada rather than just the U.S. and U.K. But the U.K. does deserve a chance to have a lot of their representatives on the show.
