Vinny looked great, krystoph's kicks were nice, but I was disappointed with his punching. I always prefer a skilled ground fighter, and I think that Vinny will sub Bader.
One would think so... Bader is a wrestler, and will likely try to take Vinny down, which is no doubt where Vinny wants to be. That said, will Bader stand and strike, knowing that Vinny is weaker in that area? Should be an interesting bout.
So far Vinny's stand up has looked much smoother than Bader's. No way Bader is knocking Vinny out if Kryz didn't either, and if it goes to ground that boring lay and prey bs. wont work vs. Vinny.
just like i said in my bader vs marshall 1. get display of ground work. i was a little nervous when they were standing up but he baited him in and finished him off. i expect to see him finish bader in the same fashion.
I agree. I keep saying it but that is because it is true.
Vinny has no standup. He was getting kicked at will and he kept losing his balance when he was throwing punches, and not very good punches I might add. Him and Dean Lister could have a D level standup war.
That being said, his ground game is excellent. I just think he is too one dimensional right now. He has time to improve, though. I do think he is a good fighter. So is Lister, by the way.
Bader on the other hand has great wrestling, decent standup, and power. If Vinny can't pull guard or take Bader down, I don't think he will do so well.
Bader should keep this fight standing and if he is able to, he will do very well in my opinion.
i cant say i totally agree. look at alot of the fighters from the show.some were wrestlers with no stand up others were boxers with no ground game. with the right camp and some stand up training i think vinny can be a force in the ufc. i like the guy and even if he loses the final i would like to see some more of him in the future. just my opinion
I would as well. I think he has a bright future. I just don't think he will be able to improve his standup enough once his fight with Bader happens. I'm sure win or lose, he will be in the UFC, though.
Fun thing: That armbar is almost exactly the same as my favourite armbar from guard. Nice to see some good people are doing it too, so I don't have to change too much :thumb02:
I don't know if Vinny will be able to get Bader to the ground.
I think Bader is definitely in danger of submission on the ground, but if he can use his TDD and punch Vinny long enough...like Mashall said Black belts turn into Brown belts when they start taking punches.
Bader hits pretty hard as well. That's not a good sign for Vinny. That sort of surprises me, though. A BJJ guy needs to be able to take punishment. One that is afraid of getting hit probably won't have a good future in MMA. He needs to change that.
I bet that makes guys like Nate Diaz and Big Nog laugh.
i see vinny pulling guard ... but their is a great chance of him getting ko'ed
